20-C TAMPA TRIBUNE1 Tuesday, April 15," 1975 Fischer Now Wants Title Meet MANILA (UPI) A Filipino chess official said yesterday former world chess champion Bobby Fischer has reconsidered and now wants to play Anatoly Karpov of Russia for the world title he gave up to Karpov by default, lorencio Lampomanes, a vice president of FIDE, the in ternational chess federation, said Fischer called him from Pasadena, and asked him to send a cable to Karpov through the Soviet Chess Federation. KARPOV, a 22-year-old Leningrad- was declared champion April 1 when Fischer refused to accept the international federations rules for a championship match, in Manila. Karpov said in Moscow over the weekend he still wants to play Fischer and called on the American to work out the rules, Campomanes said he sent the following cable to Moscow in Fischer's name: "It is a fine gesture of Mr. Karpov to offer to talk personally with me on terms and conditions for match. "I PROPOSE to meet with him in Manila or elsewhere.

Everything should be open to discussions. I want to discuss this matter seriously. Soonest reply will be appreciated." There was no immediate reaction from the Soviets or from FIDE President Max Euwe of Holland. The rules for the $5 million championship match in Manila in June had been amended to suit Fischer but not as much as he wanted. The interna tional federation stipulated that the first player to win nine games would take the match and that draws would not count.
