The event is sponsored by the Santa Clarita Valley Reading Council. Soledad Canyon's guest author will be Shirley Gordon, a scriptwriter for several legendary network radio shows, including "Suspense," "The Whistler" and "Hollywood Radio Mystery Theatre," as well as for television shows like "You are There," "Courtship of Eddie's Father" and "Bewitched." Gordon has been a full-time author since 1955. Her books include "Me and the Bad Guys." "Crystal is my Friend," "The Green Hornet Lunchbox," "Happy Birthday Crystal," and "Grandma Zoo." Gordon will meet with the students at Soledad Canyon School throughout the school day.

In the afternoon, Gordon will be the honored guest at a staff luncheon. At the end of the day she will join the other authors at a reception and book fair which will be held at Canyon Country branch of the county library. The reception will give parents and children from the Santa Clarita Valley a chance to meet the distinguished visitors. Spanish be of family-oriented feature films.
