Ray Dahl in Kouts. In his opening remarks, Pivarnik stressed the fact that "it is not the primary duty of the prosecutor to prosecute more exactly, he must see to it that those charged with a I crime are considered innocent until proven guilty." Contrary to the opinion of many people according to Atty. Pivarnik, the prosecutor's office is not a place to settle personal differences, matters of revenge, and the like. Rather its chief purpose is to prosecute those who have committed an offense against the state and a have violated one of the basic rights of the people, provided that there is sufficient evidence to ind.cate that such a crime has actually been committed. The deputy prosecutor further pointed out the procedure for filing a complaint against someone and having a warrant issued for the arrest of that person.

He advised the group also that the individual is always informed of his rights and given time to employ counsel and enter a plea. This being the annual meeting of the club, the nominating committee presented the following slate of officers for the year 1958-59: president, Mrs. Maynard Niequist; vicepresident, Mrs. Joseph Smith; secretary, Mrs. Fred Dayton; treasurer, Mrs.

Jack Ferguson. The slate was unanimously accepted. The presiding officer, Mrs. Richard Chael, reminded the women that the June meeting is to be a dinner meeting, the exact time end place to be announced later. This will also be guest night.

Mrs. Chael also assisted the hostess, Mrs. Dahl, in serving the refreshments.
