A senion at Sweet Briar College, she has been chosen to appear in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. AFTER spending the Summer Tampa with her parents, and Mrs.

Charles G. Smith, 3105 Barcelona Mrs. Alvin T. Hanson has left for Denver, where she will meet Mr. Hanson, who has come to the United States to spend his vacation.

The Hansons will return to their Honolulu home in January. BACK in Tampa after a month's vacation are Dr. and Mrs. R. S.

Lofstrom Is Speaker at Club Mrs. Mildred M. Lofstrom, who discussed the work of the Tuberculosis. Association and its coordination with other health and welfare agencies in a well planned tuberculosis-contral program, speaker at the meeting of the Woman's Club yesterday afternoon. She emphasized the fact that the work of organization is carried on entirely through use of money obtained by the sale of Christmas Seals.

Illustrating the way the organizations works with other agencies to control tuberculosis, Mrs. Lofstrom listed the parts played by X-ray; the medical social worker, the Negro worker, and a strong educational policy in the schools. Last year, she said, of the personnel in 31 schools were X-rayed. Following the talk a play, "Capital Gains," concerning the life of a girl who had tuberculosis, was presented by Mrs. Floy Langford, of the County Welfare and several Junior League members.

Tampan Is Married In Oakland, Cal. Making their home in Alameda, after a short wedding trip to Lake Tahoe, are Aviation Radioman and Mrs. Paul Thomas Hartung, who were married in Oakland, Thanksgiving Eve. Mrs. Hartung was attended by her sister as matron of honor.

Mrs. Hartung, who is the former Miss Marie Stedman, daughter of of Mr. and Mrs. W. J.

Stedman, of Oakland, was graduated from high school in that city, has been employed by the Navy there, and prior to her marriage was attending Mr. business, collegeon of Mr. and Mrs. E. A.

Hartung, 2306 Bristol Ave. He was born in Buffalo, lived in since childhood, and is a graduate of Plant High School. He entered this several months before graduation, and has been based and New Caledonia. His home base is now Alameda. Mr.

Hartung expects to receive his discharge early next year, and the couple will move back to Tampa at that time. Sodality Elections To Be Held Dec. 10 The Rev. F. D.

Sullivan, S. pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, gave a talk on the Miraculous Medal to the members of the Young Ladies Sodality Monday night. After the benediction, a short business meeting was held in the rectory, where tickets for the H. H. S.

yuletide dance were distributed. Sodalists were given copies of the Eyes and Ears, which is the organization's monthly publication, and voting ballots were issued for the coming election to be held Dec. 10. There will be no regular meeting next Monday, but instead members are asked to report at the Frolic headquarters in the Jesuit High School court yard at 8 o'clock. BIRTHS The daughter born Nov.

Engagement Announced Today MISS ALMA GALLAGHER Officers Installed At Annual Banquet Two chapters of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church gave their annual banquet in the parish house last night, at which time installation of officers and admission of new members took place, Louis. Dickenson was, installed as director of the boys' chapter, with Tommy Blake as vice director; John McWhirter, secretary, and Cameron Magnon, chaplain. Pat Patillo is director of the young men's chapter.

Bill Neilly is vice director; Bill Hendry, secretary; Fred Housholder, acolyte chairman, and John Turbiville, chaplain. New members included Warren Paul, David Ricker, Willard Silva, Edward Mendel, Douglas Lankford and Lorenz Silva. and Mrs. H. L. Gallagher, Dover, are announcing today the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Alma M. Gallagher, to William H.

Whealton, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Whealton, of Rehoboth, and rural Tampa, Their plans are as yet incomplete, but they will be married during the Christmas holidays.

Miss Gallagher graduate of Turkey Creek School, and Tampa Business College. She is now employed at Mexican Petroleum Corp. Mr. Whealton, who is a ate of both. Hillsborough High School and the University of Tampa, has recently received his discharge after service in the Navy.

He is now personnel manager for California Packing Corp. D. B. Leatherbury, of Jacksonville, officiated at the ceremony, and the couple was attended Chapman Anniston, of Anniston, as matron of honor, and by Dr. R. G.

Nelson, Tampa, as best. man. and Mrs. Nelson Mr. and Mrs.

Lowry at a Hotel party at the George Washington in Jacksonville last night. When Mr. and Mrs. Lowry return from a short wedding trip they will come to Tampa for the Winter. Mrs.

Lowry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Ingram, of Lineville, taught in Alabama schools before the war. Her father president of the Lineville National Bank.

Mr. Lowry is the son of Mrs. Sumter L. Lowry and the late Mr. Lowry, and was recently discharged from the Army after serving in New Guinea and The Netherlands East Indies as a brigadier general.

He was also in command of the 116th Field Artillery National Guard Unit 10 years. He wears the Bronze Star for his New Guinea service, and was recently awarded the Florida Star. He is now associated in business with Bushnell Steel Industries in Tampa, Jacksonville and Miami. County Council And Two Meet The Henry Mitchell A. were hosts to the meeting of the Hillsborough County Council yesterday at the school.

Another association and an executive board also met. County Council Ed Ray, managing editor of The Times, was the guest speaker at the meeting of the Hillsborough County Council. Mr. Ray's ject was taxation. Mrs.

Charles Robb, president of the Council, gave a report on the State Convention held last month at Daytona Beach. Mrs. P. R. Robin read the resolutions adopted at the Convention.

Mrs. G. A. Porter, Council program chairman, presented a program on citizenship. Those taking part on the program were Mrs.

Hamilton Hunt, Mrs. Alex Shaw, and Mrs. E. H. Wade.

It was announced by Mrs. J. C. Massey, parent-education chairman, that study group courses will be held on Jan. 10 and Jan.

24 in the Tampa Gas Co. auditorium. Lake Magdalene Mrs. Sidney Brown was hostess to the executive board of the Lake Magdalene A. with a covered-dish luncheon at her home on Lake Carroll.

Following the luncheon a study course was held on "The Family Builds for the Future," with the question of discipline being brought out. Mrs. B. M. Greenlee, the delegate to the State gave a reassociation, port on the meeting.

Helen Hill Mrs. Gene Moore, public health nurse director, was the principal speaker at the meeting of the Helen association yesterday at the school. Reports were given on the proceeds from the Halloween Carnival. Budgeting in general was also discussed. The association voted to donate to the tubercular association.

The second grade received the attendance award.
