Class Presents Owing to bad weather only a lair-sized crowd attended a junior play, The Black Ace, at the opera louse last Thursday and Friday evenings. Taking part were Robert Schwartz, Irene Krause, Donna Jean Bailey, Charles Glaus, Isa- and June Weisbrod, Harold Clair Bellinger, Maynard Jentz, Lyle Newel, and Marie Pertl. This was a mystery play, and though difficult was well given.

Verne sasketball fans turned out almost 100 per cent last week Tuesday evening, when the local first and second boys' teams went to Renwick to play a first game in a new gymnasium there. The Lu Verne firsts lost, 22-17, but the local seconds won.

Ledyard Twice Victor. Ledyard, Dec. week Mon- night the Seneca boys and girls basketball teams played here, and the Ledyard boys won 27-11 and the girls won 18-4. Saturday night the boys played Forest City and lost 20-7 in a close, fast game. First one team was ahead and then the other.

BUSINESS MEN PLAN A TRADE PROJECT: BURT Burt, Dec. business men are putting on a trade extension program which will continue for six weeks. Each Saturday evening prizes will be given, and prizes and grand prize will be awarded at the end of the six weeks. Final plans have not been made, so the amounts of prizes cannot be given, but they will bo cash prizes of considerable value. On Saturday afternoon, December 15, a program will be given partly by the school and part of it will bo a short movie.

On Saturday afternoon, December 22, a free movie will be given, and Santa will be on hand with a free treat for the children. P. T. A. Has Program The P.

T. A. will meet at the schoolhouse this week Thursday evening, and tho program will be in keeping with the Christmas season; vocal solo, Ed Thaves; How to Preserve the Christmas Spirit, Eva Whitney; Origin and Development of the Christmas Spirit, Mrs. Weir; Exchange of Christmas Gifts, the Effect, Good or Bad, by another speaker; and music. At the close of the meeting it is planned to organize a Red Cross chapter.
