The you'll do all right. It's true, bass, crappie and panfish action was hurt but reports indicate the damage was not severe.

Following is a look at how we found fishing Thursday: 1. Lake Rousseau: Diehard fishing the holes and freeHning under the hyancith are finding some smal bass. Backwaters: Fish are here but some warm weather Is needed before they wil move out of the deep holes. 2. Dunnellon: Slow except for the east end of the backwaters, where bass are going after shiners.

State Road 200 Bridge: Wind, cold and a weed pileup that's blocked the channel to me Rainbow flats has killed fishing at this point of the Wlthlacoochee. 4. Hernando Lake: Just so-so. Bass are awfuty smal, crappie have taken to the deep holes and bream are scarce. 5.

Inverness: Bass action in Lakes Henderson and Spivy Is slow, however, crappie can be had in the deep water sections near Gospel Island Bridge. a. Floral City: A good passing spot if you Pg the posthotes. I. Lake Panasoffkee: Good bass action.

Panflshing rates fair but the crappie are scattered and hard to roundup. I. Big Pier 60: Closed until the weather Improves. Courtney Campbell Parkway: Look for trout here but only If the weather has improved. 10.

Big Indian Recks Pier Nothing guaranteed but whiting. They are plentiful and like the dirty water. 11. Redington Long Pier: A whiting and black drum weekend unless the weather does a flip-flop In a hurry. 12.

Porter Pier: Rough, dirty water must settle before decent fishing resumes. 13. Tierra Verdr. Trout and reds should be biting for cotd-weather anglers. 14.

Lower Tampa Bay. Trout are fused up and ready to go. 15. Snell Isle-Shore Acres: Coffee Pot and Smacks Bayou are good possibilities for trout and reds. 1.

Gandy Bridge: Wind and cold shouldn't affect good trout and red fishing In Masters Bayou. 17. Johns Pass: Not much expected from here except a few redfish. The pass is a rough, dirty mass of water that needs some cleaning out. 18.

Lake Seminole: Needs at least a three-day war mop before fish and fishermen can expect to get together. 19. Anna Maria Island: No reports available. Rod Reel Pier employees are taking their annual Christmas vacation. 20.

Bradenton-Palmetto: Trout action is good in Palma Sola Bay. Elsewhere, fishing is rated slow. 21. Sarasota: Buttonwood Harbor is ful of specks. Reds also are hitting in some areas sheltered from the weather by boat docks.

22. Pinellas Point to The Pier: You have three choices for specks. The flats east of the Skyway, Coquina Key and Bahama Shores. 23. Dunedim tf the trout don't come back to Hurricane Pass, try for reds In the Florida Power Co.

hot water runoff channel at Tarpon Springs. and BIG JOHN ARNDT St. Petereburg Timet Fiahing Writer! As of Thursday, the fishing outlook for weekend saltwater anglers wasn't too good. What's needed to improve action is a few warm, sunny and windless days. But a look into the future reveals this may not be in the cards until sometime next week, if then.

"Although the days will be sunny and bright, there is no warming trend in sight," a spokesman at the Weather Service office in Ruskin intoned. "There is still another cold front to deal with Saturday or Sunday before we can start talking about a warmup," he warned. "This one won't cause temperatures to drop much lower than they are now. However, it will serve as a reenforce-ment to hold the cold in for a longer period of time." That isn't the kind of news we like to hear but it doesn't mean the "no fishing" sign is out If you can take the cold in stride by dressing properly, the possibility of getting some fish is still very real, especially if the wind doesn't blow your socks off. If you do your fishing freshwater-style, chances are even better has already been treated to some rough weather and Thursday: there were signs that a disturbed was in the formative stages.
