Jack Oakie Popular We are apt to have Jack Oakie in more pictures than any other Paramount star this coming season. Every time you talk with anyone at Para mount they have just bought a new story for Jack or are negotiating for an appropriate scenario for him. He will finish "Marco Himself" with Ed die Sutherland directing before he concentrates on anything else but that hasn't prevented Paramount from gO' ing ahead and arranging for a story to be called "Toplitsky of Notre Dame." You can hardly think of Jack Oakie with his Irish cast of countenance playing Toplitsky. But maybe I am wrong, I oftn am. Lloyd's Next Comedy Harold Lloyd tells me his next comedy will, be about a boat with all the acting taking place on the water.

"What about the college story?" I asked him. Harold looked doubtful as he explained that he had a play written that-was not unlike "The Freshman." "I don't believe I could ever repeat 'The Freshman'," he said, "and don't you think it is silly for any actor to duplicate any picture that lias been more or less success ful?" I don't know but that Harold is right. It is difficult to repeat a success in any line of work and more or less foolish. Lloyd will have to make up his mind soon for he is expected to begin work before long. James Crane Signed James Crane, son of the late Dr, Frank Crane has been signed by National for, the role of the heavy in "One Night at Susie's," Billie Dove's next picture in which Douglas Fair banks, will be featured and which John Francis Dillon will direct.

Elated over acceptance by the reichstag of all bills dealing with the Young plan, the German government now looks confi dently to passage by the reichstag of this most important piece of legislation affecting the German lawmakers since adoption of the Dawes plan. In fact, it is generally believed that approval of the Young plan and the bills connected therewith such as the German-American and German-Polish agreements as well as changes in policy of the reichsbank and the federal railways statutes will, because of their definite character, affect Germany's destiny more decisively than even the Dawes plan, which was tentative in character.

Sothern, distinguished American actor, best known for his work in Shakespearean roles, will appear tomorrow night in the municipal auditorium under auspices of the Tampa Little theater He will present his interpretation of "Othello" and "Hamlet," and also will discuss high points in Shakespeare's career, his peculiar literary gift and the trend of the modern theater. 5. (A.P.) First intimation that Grant Withers and Loretta Young, film players, wUl not calmly submit to an amicable annulment of their recent Arizona air plane wedding appeared in an announcement today by George U. Belzer, stepfather of Miss Young, that the girl was missing from her mother's home. Belzer said Miss Young had been away for two nights and had not communicated with her mother, although it was understood she was to make her home with the Belzers until the pending court action on the recent marriage is completed. The annulment suit was filed by Mrs.

Belzer, and at that time it was re ported the newlyweds had agreed to the separation plan and would wait until the bride had reached the age of 18. The hide's parents revealed today, however, that Withers apparently looked with disfavor upon the an nulment and had countered with a demurrer to the action. LAKELAND PHYSICIAN ILL LAKELAND, Feb. 5.
