FRED H. MONFORE YANKTON, S.D., Nov. 27 (P) -Fred H. Monfore, 72, editor and publisher of the Yankton Daily Press and Dakotan since 1940, died Saturday after a long illness. Monfore, who began his newspaper career with the Sioux Falls (S.D.) Argus-Leader in 1914, had been with the Press and Dakotan since 1920.

MISS M. McLAUGHLIN LEXINGTON, Nov. 27 (P) Miss Marguerite McLaughlin, 79, assistant professor of journalism at the University of Kentucky and one of the nation's first women journalism professors, died Saturday of cancer.
