Although the attendance st Plumpton yesterday was not so numerous as that at the Jancary meeting, the sport waa very interesting, and on the whole the trials were perfectly legitimate. For some reason or other the principal stake did, not fill, but with all the remainder wen supported the card was a good one.

To day, bow ever, when the meeting concludes, over 50) courses will be nevcfrary to finish tie card, the inclusion of no fewer than eight sapling stakes having proved very popular, especially 'among south country public courses. The bares ran indifferently, and on several occasions the crerhoundit became unsighted in the runi up. Colonel Ho Iroes's Heroic, one of the fancied candidates in the Brizhton Stakes, beinc one of the victims. In this event there were several surprises, Spytfontein. winner of the Netherby Cup last October, and Sea Fog both foinff down in the first round; in fact, of the seniors Ir.

Harding Cox's Agile Spurt was the only greyhound running up to form, and it should be an interest ine spin between last year's winner of the Waterloo Pnrse and Mr. S. S. Death's Gineer Wine in the third round to day. The others left standing are Bazem Jazem and Boothby Squire.

Of tho remaining four stakes only the principal poppy event was run through a record time, the feature of the runnine beine the smart performance of Mr. A. J. Humphcry's Here's Watty in defeatinr the uium iniuv uuevn duuut ouisura in ids noona round. A start will again lie made at noon to day with secona round oi ine iiasung Makes.
