B. Reed returned home from Kansas City Thursday. He had been visiting Earl Hughlett and family. He was not able to be up after his return and departed this life Saturday at 11 p. age 75 years.

Funeral ser- viices were conducted at the Baptist church Monday by Albion Erickson. Surviving are his widow, a brother and ten children, all of whom were present at the last rites. Oscar Harp and son, Clarence Turner of Tulsa visited at the home of Jesse Harp and family last week. L. N.

Pannell was in Verona Sunday to visit his brother, Spencer Pannell and wife, and his cousin, Miss Cora Bruffett, who is very ill. Mr. and Mrs. Buster Carpenter of Muskogee, spent Sunday and'Labor Day with the former's mother, Mrs. Lottie West.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Bacon of Jefferson City spent Sunday with Mrs. E. J.

Hughlett. Mrs. Al Hudson of Jefferson City visited friends here Sunday. The Drivers and Christophers held a reunion at Monark Springs Sunday. There 57 relatives pffes- ent, most of them from Fairview.

Mr. and Mrs. Tatham of Coffeyville, visited J. M. Hawk and wife last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Elzle Ratliff spent last Tuesday with the former's mother, Mrs. Bertha Ratliff. Mrs.
