In the current Vogue she wears two Mainbocher dresses. "O'Neill is a dream, she has great distinction," Diana Vreeland says. Jennifer O'Neill was born in Rio, but came here when she was only four months old. She was going quietly to Dalton School until she was talked into posing one day for a Helena Rubinstein ad. She fascinated the photographer.

A 5'8" girl with dark hair and blue eyes, Jennifer O'Neill, like Jean Shrimpton, is extremely pretty, with Ereat female appeal. She is booked for so many modeling jobs nowadays, that she studies at the American Correspondence School. In the last year she has traveled to Tuerto Rico, California and Florida. She likes her job, but the clothes themselves don't interest her. The work has simply allowed her to fulfill her life's ambition to own a horse.

She owns two, in fact, and keeps them in style in White Plains where she spends every spare minute. The horse show the dinner following the Saturday night ran Friday through Sunday. Club Clock New Neighbors Entertain Fashion By EUGENIA SHEPPARD Herald Tribune News Service NEW YORK One fashion model has been making as many headlines as President Johnson. She's English Jean Shrimpton.

Her life story and superb dimensions have been of prime interest to every periodical you pick up lately, to say nothing of the fashion magazines, over which she is plastered from stem to stern. She is photographed in sports clothes and evening clothes, color and black and white. Jean Shrimpton's every appearance is fraught with magic, and what she shows is apt to sell. Take the double page Revlon promotion in some of the April magazines. It's just about the most psychologically successful photograph I ever saw.

It capitalizes completely on the whole youth craze. It shows Jean looking childish and pouty. She is clutching a huge teddy bear (what a master stroke) and wearing a babyfied Chantilly lace dress with the almighty baby ruffle, started by Bill Blass and still going strong. I wouldn't know how many lipsticks were sold, but there were hundreds of calls to the designer, even though the Bill Blass name appeared in the most minute print. The Jean Shrimpton furor proves just one thing.

The public likes pretty models. The fashion magazines sometimes go overboard for ugly, Interesting, character faces, but It's the pretty model who sells. Jean is not just pretty. She Is 100 per cent female, too. Disdain Unneeded One way for the homemaker to avoid summer heat fatigue is to disdain unneeded1 chores.

For example, some homemakers go to the extra trouble of waxing ceramic tile walls, floors and countertops. It isn't really necessary, says the Tile Council of America, trade association of domestic manufacturers. Ceramic tile is a stainproof material that needs no extra care. Its "fired-in" natural beauty requires, only a soft cloth and a detergent to keep it sparkling, the Council added. Couriter Ideas The increasing number of frozen foods available has made quick meals a simple matter.

But haste can make waste, as many housewives have. learned after placing a hot pan or pot on a countertop that isn't burn-proof; The solution is to have your idtchen countertop surfaced with ceramic tile. Not only is it fireproof, but it also can withstand a slip of even the sharpest knife. Learned From Mama CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. The granddaughter was fined in city court Dutch; blonde, Swedish Ulla Anderson; Astrid Schiller and Colleen Corby. All of them have big eyes and rangy figures. All of them are in their teens and unmarried. Seventeen-year-old Colleen Corby is making a mint as the most popular cover girl for the teen magazines.

She has been modeling three years now and mails in her home work each week end to the Professional Children's School. "I save lots of money, but I spend lots, too. Most clothes are boring, but I have this thing about leather. I buy a lot of shoes and handbags." At cocktail time she goes to acting school, and already has a movie contract tucked into her belt. Several men have asked her to marry them, but she prefers work.

"I don't care how young a model is," says Diana Vreeland. "I don't care if she's 12 year old." "It's their eyes I look for," she went on. "Girls have to smile with their eyes, and the young ones do. For a decorating job with a flair, you interior decorator is the specialist to 'see. Women look at her with vicarious pleasure. Much of her fan mail comes from other women. What's true of Jean is true of all other models whose success has completely blanketed the fashion world for a while. Jean Patchett (the face with the built-in beauty spot) and Suzy Parker were truly pretty girls.

Naturally, Jean Shrimpton can't go on filling the fashion magazine forever. She's already reaching the ripe old age of 22. Shrimpton's successor may be one of the up-and-coming teen-age models. Like everybody else, models are getting younger. The commodity most in demand in the fashion world is a beautiful 17-year-old girl who looks sophisticated enough to wear clothes by expensive, sophisticated designers.
