In two new first run films open and three Academy Award contenders will available for moviegoers. The new film opening in St Petersburg Is also a front running contender for the Academy Awards.

Elia Kazan's "America, America" will open Thursday at the Center Theater. The film, actually the biography of Kazan's uncle, stars two unknowns, Stathis Gial-lelis and Linda Marsh. Gial-lelis plays the role of a Greek youth in Turkey who encounters many obstacles and has many adventures in his quest to reach the United States. "AMERICA, AMERICA" has been nominated for an Oscar as Best Picture of the Year. Elia Kazan has been nominated for his direction of 'the film as well as for his original story and screen play.

In addition, the film has been nominated for Best Art Direction of a black and white picture. The new Elvis Presley film, "Kiss In Cousins," opens at the Tampa Theater Thursday. In this adventure, there is a host of new songs as Presley plays two separate roles In the film with a "hillbilly" setting. The Britton Theater will open a romantic comedy, "Paris When It Slxzles." Thursday. It stars Audrey Hepburn and William Holden in a story of a movie script writer who has sold a script that doesn't exist THE TAMPA will continue its showing of Walt Disney's "A Tiger Walks" with Brian Keith, through Wednesday.

The Britton will be showing the fantasy-comedy wijh Tony Randall and Burl Ives, "The Brass Bottle," through Wednesday. Three Academy Award contenders will be available in Tampa this week. Tom Jones" continues its extended run at the Florida Theater. Albert Finney, Susannah York SEXTETTE sign, for a color picture. Its sixth nomination Is for film editing.

"Bye Bye Birdie," based on the Broadway hit musical and starring Dick Van Dyke and Ann-Margaret, plays at the Skyway Drive-in Theater Wednesday and Thursday.
