He Is suffering from possible fracture of the back but results of X-rays taken to determine the extent of his injuries are not known, the hospital said.

In addition to the back and hip injuries, believed caused by the vehicle, Kerns also suffered cute and abrasions on the face which authorities said might have been sustained when he was thrown upon his face after being struck by the vehicle.
