S. consul to the Hawaiian Government from 1681-1SS5 and at the time of his death represented that government as Consul here at Frisco. His age wad 63, he leaves a wife and daughter, the latter assisted at the Governors inaugural last winterT he will be buried at Frisco.

Loaded With Tokens of Love. A very pleasant reception was given Rev. J. W. James and his estimable wile on Wednesday eve of last week by the members of the church and their numerous friends, the young people of the, society agreeably surprised, their pastor and wife, by presenting them with an elegant silver ladle and fruit spoon, while the older members gave them a beautiful silver fruit stand and a very liberal supply of fruits and general provisions.
