Mteeple rkwains In Ilnnsnry. Pkstb, April 7, 1867. The Pesth Steeple-chose Spring Meeting was held on a splendid race course, situate aliout two miles from tbe city, on tbe Pestb side of the river. The ground being sandy, was In excellent condition, spite of tbe late beavy rams. A capital grand Btand and ring, spacious stabling, saddling and weighing rooms, gave evidence of good taste and thorough acquaintance with turf requirements on the part of tbe Jockey Club committee, and tbe list of horses and riders promised a good day's sport.

Four out of Ave starters in the first event positively refused nor could all tbe exertions of their riders, conlinuod for more than ten minutes, get them over, through, or even info it. But the fifth horse, a swerving, timid brute, was rdden by an Englishman, Mr. Greville Bartons, who, in spite of a nasty fall over timber, several baulks, and a stern resolution on tbe part of the quadruped be bestrode to jib at evory thing, managod to cram bis beast at the ominous double, gut safely over, ami won in a canter. Mr. 8artoris rode both steadily and pluckily, and well deserved tbe applause showered upon bltn as he went past tbe stand.

Count Ivan Bzapary won the second race by splendid riding, and a capital race it was, for you might have covered the four who rode it "with a handkerchief all through; and tbe third event, a hurdle race, was won by a Hungarian groom, promoted to jockeydom from peasantry, who punished his horse in a style seldom seen came in first by hair an upper lip. A great many ladles were presentlight blue plush being the prevalent all dorJr, Including many pilgrims from Vienna. Count Raul Foetetics acted as starter.
