Next Monday evening when Kern Philharmonic Chorus presents Haydn's "The there will 33g be some 150 voices in the group. The Monday evening concert at the Harvey auditorium climaxes many weeks of rehearsals as well as an interesting example of co-operative choral work and organization. This year when Edouard Hurlimann, mu- sicaKdirector of the Kern Philharmonic Orchestra, was asked to direct the chorus he suggested that the group be organized with a number of auxiliary groups in different cities of the county. Delano Too As a result of Mr. Hurlimann's suggestion and throiigh the combined efforts of the Kern Philharmonic- Society and the Kern County Recreation and Cultural Commission it was arranged to have a choral group rehearse in Bakersfield under the direction of Chester Hayden.

This plan worked out most successfully with approximately one hundred people joining the Bakers field choral group and some sixty in the Delano group. During the immediate weeks past the combined groups have been rehearsing under the baton of Edouard Hurlimann. Conductor Pleased Mr. Hurlimann has been delighted with this plan and with the work, that has been accomplished. The associate directors of the Kern Philharmonic Chorus, Chester Hayden and Ronald Clark, are well known to music audiences.
