Dobies Funeral Homes, Holiday. LAND O'LAKES A $5-mil-lion expansion of Lake Patience Road to serve thousands of homes sprouting in developments such as Oakstead still is about three years away. But Pasco County is looking ahead and laying out a route now, and the public gets a say in the matter today at the Land O'Lakes Community Center on U.S. 41. The community meeting, called so that residents can look over a draft of the route study for Lake Patience Road, is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

to 7 p.m. The project drastically changes the road, a sleepy lV6-mile thoroughfare that starts at U.S. 41 and peters out near Pasco County Animal Control. 'This collector road would function to carry internal traffic from the many subdivisions and networks of feeder roads that are presently under construction," said Jim Polk, county project ager. The project would extend the road another mile through the partly built Oakstead community, all the way to a future north-south road called Sunlake Boulevard.

It will be four lanes wide. Two of the three proposed alignments shift the road's U.S. 41 junction farther north to Bell Lake Road. Merging Lake Patience with Bell Lake roads has two big advantages. Polk said.

First, Bell Lake Road already has a traffic signal at its intersection with U.S. 41. And the part of the route nearest Bell Lake Road ANDES, LESTER, 88, of Bayonet Point, died Saturday (June 7, 2003) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Hudson. Trinity Memorial Gardens, New Port Richey. One mile a Ana; Times art cuts across only two large parcels, both of whose owners would give right of way as part of their development plans. Some community activists aren't keen oh the expansion plans. Ed and Debra Moore, who live in a rural nook of Land O'Lakes just north of Lake Patience, fought rezoning for Oakstead in 1999.

They're concerned that their "pristine" road will become a "four-lane divided highway." In making their case, they've appealed to Oakstead residents. "The people of Oakstead don't know they have a highway coming through their back yard," said Ed Moore, who predicts a large, ornery crowd tonight After hearing public comments, the county plans to publish a final version of the route study in late July. Approval has to come from the county commissioners. Medicare Accepted BRAS THAT A wfa RIZZO, ROSE, 80, of New Port Richey, died Saturday (June 7, 2003) at home.
