and Mrs. Gene Vaal and family and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Dotterweich were guests of Mr. and Mrs.

Edwin Ebert and family in Ferdinand Sunday. The Joan made her First Holy Communion. Mrs. Jack Hagedom and son of Louisville are spending three weeks visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Leo Kress and family, and Mrs. Florence Hagedorn. Mr. Hagedom is on a business trip to Hawaii. Mrs.

Maxine Boehman is a patient at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville where she is undergoing a series of treatments and tests. Rena Ann, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raphael Greulich, was brought home by her parents last Thursday after being hospitalized several days at Welbom Hospital in Evansville. Mr.

and Mrs. Michael Miguel III and daughter Jackie left last Tuesday for Texas for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Miguel II. Mr.

and Mrs. Sylvester Heeke of Jasper spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Urban Fendel and daughter Joyce. Several from here were at the Fuller funeral home last Thursday evening to pay their last respects to Delmar Harris.

Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Graman and daughter Gail of Cincinnati spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert Graman.

Mrs. Mary Tempe? was taken to St. Hospital in Huntingburg last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs.

Ray Persohn of Jasper spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Persohn. David Kress, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Leo Kress, who has been serving with the Armed Forces in Germany arrived home last Tuesday night, having completed his service career. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ruxer spent the weekend in Bloomington with Mr. and Mrs.

J.D. Springston. Mr. Graman has asked me to remind everyone that the time of mail departure is 10:30 a.m. and at 4 p.m.

This is one half hour earlier in the evening than before the time change. He asks everyone to have mail deposited at least by 3:45 in the afternoon to insure evening dispatch. Word was received here last week of the death of Andrew Harrington of Lyndon, Ky. Mr. Harrington, a retired captain of the Louisville Fire Department was married to the former Ardella Rasche.

Attending the funeral from here were Mr. and Mrs. Amil B. Niehaus and family, Mr. and Mrs.

Alvin Niehaus and family and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rasche and family. Others from a distance who attended were James G. Niehaus of Franklin, 111., Mrs.

Rita Lovell, Evansville, Mr. and Mrs. David Niehaus of Nerburgh, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Niehaus, Mrs.

Thomas Niehaus and Mrs. Ruth Ann Stallman, all of Washington, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rasche of Evansville. I I Ind.

Relatives here also received word of the death of Mr. Andrew Zika of St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Zika was married to the former Elizabeth (Betty) Muth.

Attending the funeral at St. Louis on Friday were Mrs. Anna Welp of Ferdinand and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Muth and son Kurt.

Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Haller "of Woodland Park, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Leo Vaal.

Ed Waldhier of New Boston spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Francis Spayd and sons. Mr. and Mrs.

Leroy Brahm attended a first communion celebration at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hank Brahm at Ferdinand Page 23 Sunday. Mr. and Mrs.

Gene Allan Vaal and family of Ferdinand spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Vaal. Mrs. Mildred Tillman attended the Eighth District Auxiliary meeting in Boonville Sunday.

Benno Greulich entered Memorial Hospital in Jasper Sunday afternoon, where he is undergoing tests and treatment.
