The First of the Many Cases Pennsylvania Incendiaries Comes tion of a Man Charged with Sending a liOtter Threatvnlngr to Burn a Bara. It was that of Levi Herr, charged with setting fire to his barn near Hanover on February 19. The court room was crowded, for these cases are reorarded with Intense interest. Chief of Police Egger was the first witness.

He testified to place after the fire and the contradictory statements made by the prisoner. Dr. Rice, of McSherrystown, swore that Herr had told him a different story from the one told Egger in regard to his whereabouts on the day of the fire. The case continues to day. In the case of Charles Coe, charpretl with sending letters threatening to burn barns, the jury returned a verdict of guilty last night.
