Washington, Oct 28 Two warrants were issued last night for the arrest of Foreman Dickson of the star-route jury. The fires was based on the recently published affidavit of Juror McNeely, charging an endeavor to improperly Influence the jury; the other on affidavits of Brewster Cameron, Henry A.

Bo wen and Judge Hoover, of Arizona, charging Dickson with conspiracy with George W7 Driver, a restaurant keeper, and others to get money from the United States through Brewster Cameron for the purpose of impeding justice. Brewster Cameron's sworn statement gives details of Dickson's efforts to be introduced to him. He declined: to meet him on account of evil reports he had heard. Cameron refused to see Dickson, but told Merrick and Kerr what he had heard. Merrick ridiculed his suspicions, and said he had no doubt Dickson had information for the department about bribery.

Both Merrick and Kerr advised him to see Dickson. He went to Driver' and saw Bowen talking with Dickson, but Bowen said Dickson would see Cameron later privately. Cameron replied Dickson bad had time enough to make any statement he wished to. Bowen said if Cameron would remain over night he would learn that Dickson wanted money for his verdict Cameron said he could not wait and took the evening train west. Cameron further said he never talked with Dickson or authorized any one to address Dickson with a view of Influencing the jury, and concludes his affidavit by asking the Attorney-General for a recorded vindication.

The affidavits of Bowen and Judge Hoover are mainly corroborative of Cameron's. The second part of the statement by Wells, of star route bribery cases, was made public last evening. It reviews the court proceedings where the judge said he didn't want the question of briberv raised in the jury room and arraigns Dickson for disregard of instructions as disclosed by several jurors. It claims that Dickson's statement bears evidence of deliberate design on its face, but is decidedly inconsistent; reviews all the affidavits in the case and enters into a long argument to show Dickson's design was to smirch the prosecution and delude other jurors into a verdict of acquittal, and concludes with a statement that the facts now presented are all the special attorney has been able to get on the subject and that Dickson, when asked for other proofs of his statement had none to offer. Dickson, when arrested today, will be taken directly to the police court and will fee prepared 'to (rive bail in any amount.

The Bale or the Nickel Plate. There seems to be no doubt now that the Nickel Plate" has been transfered to other hands, the control of the stock having been bought by J. H. Devereux and Stevenson Burke of Cleveland, a syndicate of Western railroad men who are interested largely in the Columbus, Hocking Valley Toledo and the Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati Indianapolis railroads. Vanderbilt is probably behind the purchasers, as the Gould party concede that the report that Vanderbilt bought the road is true.

There is no doubt that the purchase, however costly to Vanderbilt, is a good thing, for the way eastern roads are springing np and coming into Buffalo seeking western connection, the Central must indeed be strong to resist the effect of detracted hade which must have gone over the Nickel Plate.
