Byren C. Anderson, 65 of Newcastle, has died in a hospital of injuries suffered May 14, 1973 in a traffic accident about three miles west of here on Route 35. The State Patrol said Wednesday that Anderson apparently lost control of the truck he was driving as he was passing a car and it rolled. He died last Thursday. The death raised the 1973 traffic fatality toll for the year to 434.

Davidchik will head Evening Toastmasters Darrell Davidchik was elected president of the Columbus Evening Toastmasters at Tuesday dinner-meeting. Also elected were Emmett Sims, educational vice president; Gene Boger, administrational vice president; Gary Shipley, secretary- treasurer; and Dan sergeant at arms. Vem Hofman presided at the meeting and was also in charge of table topics. Shipley won the best speech award with his presentation, Hofman was judged best evaluator. Theme for next meeting will be On Monday evening, Davidchik, Shipley and Russ Aerni attended the Christmas party sponsored by the two Fremont Toastmasters Clubs in that community.

Davidchik gave a speech and Aerni was an evaluator. District Governor Shipley installed new officers of both clubs for 1975. HOLIDAY PROGRAM LEIGH The Leigh Community High School annual Christmas program will be presented in the high school auditorium Sunday beginning at 8 p.m. Groups performing include band, chorus, stage band, madrigal and duet. All students enrolled in high school music courses will be involved in the concert, according to John Streemke, music instructor.

Local residents attend Legion, Auxiliary session Several Columbus residents attended the 42nd annual educational conference of the Nebraska American Legion and Auxiliary, held the past weekend at Grand Island. National Commander James Wagonseller of Ohio addressed the joint banquet Sunday noon. Mrs. Michael Bosiljavec of Omaha, whose husband is one of the unaccounted for prisoners of war in the Vietnam conflict, was guest speaker at the national security banquet Saturday night. Mrs. Kathleen Tucker of Grand Island, Region III director of the Nebraska Department of Public Welfare, spoke Saturday afternoon concerning the foster care plan.

Also addressing joint afternoon sessions were Robert Benton, Lincoln, of the National Council on Crime and Delinquency, who explained the Youth Service Bureau; and Rufus Wilson, representative of the Veterans Administration, Washington, D.C., discussing upcoming legislation pertaining to the VA national cemetery system. Gospel movie at Redeemer Baptist The film, Gospel will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Redeemer Baptist Church. Distributed by World Wide Pictures, the film was conceived and produced by Johnny Cash and his wife, June Carter Cash, in an effort to tell the story of Jesus Christ in a realistic and meaningful way.

St. Ann plans luncheon meeting SHELBY St. Ann Guild met Thursday at Sacred Heart School basement. President Mrs. Duane Gabel thanked all members who helped with the farm sale, food sale and the cake walk.

After the meeting cards were played. Mrs. Grace Duren won high in pitch, Mrs. Duane Gabel high in pinochle. Door prize was awarded to Mrs.

Harmon Augustin, special prizes to Mrs. Victor Krumbach and Mrs. Roselle Skinner. Next meeting will be on Dec. 19 with a noon covered dish luncheon and a one dollar gift exchange.

Hostesses were Mmes. Hershal Reisdorff, Terry Fusco, Rav Whitmore, Michael Richter and Lonnie Whitmore. A Christmas bridge luncheon was held Thursday at the Ryan Hill Country Club in Osceola.
