Amelia Scheffler. Hastings cab rate increase gets approval LINCOLN, Neb. (AP)-The Nebraska Public Service Commission Monday approved a 25-cent per fare rate increase for Hastings' two cab companies. The 25-cent increase came when the commission raised the base rate from 65 cents for the first one-sixth mile to $1 for the first one-third mile. The rate for each additional one-sixth mile remained at 10 cents.

The companies, Hastings Yellow Cab and 80 Tax Line, Inc. of Hastings, also received an increase from 60 to 90 cents for each mile of one-way travel out of town.
