GIBSON April 1.8,15 (3-144) Two" Bakersfield men are in custody today at Kern County Jail following their arrest Monday night by officers of the narcotics task force on suspicion of marijuana, nar- Probation hearing set after arrest Frank Gonzales Yanex, 25, 1020 Owens Street, arrested following a search of his apartment, today was awaiting probation hearing on a prior charge of receiving a stolen shotgun.

Released on bail by presiding Superior Court Judge Marvin E. Ferguson, four counts of receiving stolen property against Yanez were dismissed by the court when he pleaded guilty to being in possession of the shotgun, stolen from David Owen Frank early in February. His probation hearing and sentencing was set for April 23 before Superior Court udge P. R. Borton.

After the Monday night arrest, Yanez was booked at the Kern County jail on suspicion of being in possession of $500 worth of heroin, having, a stolen rifle in his apartment and being in possession of marijuana and narcotics paraphernalia. The seizure was made by narcotics task force officers armed with a search warrant. Service set for W. R. Talley Jr.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Boron, for W. R. Talley 19, 27613 Hurley Street, Boron, whose body was found April 5 in the Colorado River near Needles. Interment will be at 2 p.m.

in Mt. View Cemetery, Barstow. Mr. Talley, who had left his home March 19 on an expedition to the river, last was heard from two days later. Details are incomplete, but he is believed to have drowned March 21.

Cox told of arresting Larry and Cumbry, Ralston Street neighbors, as they come out of the rear door of Cotton Club Liquors, 602 Lakeview Avenue, carrying cigarettes and liquor. Aiding in the arrest was patrolman Billie West. McDaniels, operator of the kiquor store, identified the merchandise as stolen from his inventory. Larry testified in his own befalf Thursday.
