About 8:30 o'clock on the morning of that day Bert Luzler found the body of Harry Higel lying In the road on Siesta key. The features were so covered with blo-d that Br. Luzler, who had known Higel for many years, could not recognize him. He, with the help of his son, put the wounded man in his car and took him back to Dr. Joe fcfalton's office in Sarasota where the blood was washed from the man's face and he was given fir3t aid treatment.

Mr. Luzler notified the officials as soon as he reached Sarasota and Deputy Sheriff Hodges of Sarasota notified Chief Deputy Brown who immediately left for Sarasota and the scene of the tragedy.

Soon after Mr. Brown reached Sarasota he and Mr. Hodges were told to go to Rube Allyn's home, which is located near the place where Higel was found. The officers went to the house and found two pair of Allyn's trousers which were wet. They also found stains on the shoes that Allyn was wearing that resembled blood stain.

He received the money and paid the old man out of jail.

The old man was so grateful that he did not want to leave the jail at all, and realizing that he was free at last he went out and purchased a fcasketful of fruit for Rube. Rube cald that it was worth the seventy-five to see that old man's face light up. Rube is confident that he will be acquitted. His friends are also confident that he will not be convicted.
