where fine entertainment's concerned, Paul Sills' "Story Theater" should attract ia sizable following for its evening of good-natured fun. The current attraction at the Mark Taper Forum is a collection of those free-for-all Grimms' Fairy Tales as interpreted by former members of the famed Second City satirical group where Mike Nichols, Elaine May, and Alan Arkin began their careers. What's so innovative about the Sills presentation is that all these years Second City has been acting and most audiences never realized it. Yet, that old favorite "The Fisherman and His Wife" proves the point when Peter Bonerz flits on stage in a fish costume that looks like all seven of Salome's veils and proclaims, "I'm no ordinary flounder." Of course, there are times when the evening threatens to break into a free-for-all vaudeville with Dylan-like accompaniament by the True Brethren, soaring sound effects, and some psy-ched-out slides on a cyclo-rama. Sills stages the show with 24-Hour Radio Special Scans Education Scene "fading, Biting and Rebellion" is the title of the next 24-hour Special slated to be aired by KABC Radio AM FM Monday, it today had been announced by Jack Meyers, operations manager of KABC Radio.

"As a continuing feature of our Decade of Dialogue celebrating KABC Radio's 10th Anniversary of news, conversation and community Involvement programming," claimed Meyers, "this controversial Three Special will cover all aspects of today's educational scene." It will scan public and private education, philosophy, funding, testing, student activities, student demonstrations, new and old methods of learning and many other vital aspects of education. So, Paul Sand is a fierce dog, Richard Libertini intakes a funny pastor who looks just like the devil, and Melinda Dillon provides some striking moments in the more serious portions of the program. Others involved in the free-wheeling festivities include Hamilton Camp, Mary Frann, Valerie Harper, Richard Schawl, and the previously mentioned Bonerz.

Although not quite in the same league with Nichols and May at their peek, "Story Theater" works engaging twists into those familiar bedtime stories. dults: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL. Now in each issue. and VALLEY GREEK SHEET THt NEWS Von Nuyi (Calif 'CLEAR DAY7 TO BOW Paramount Unveils Two Top By ALI SAR It was Thursday night at the movies for the past two consecutive weeks for Paramount Pictures, which called on celebrities and the press to view two of its top productions, "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever" and "Darling Lili." And stars turned out by the scores, especiaily for Howard Koch's Barbra Streisand-starrer "On A Clear Day." The plush Directors Guild Theater was the location for both functions hosted by Para mount's production chief Robert Evans. The pictures will dominate the local cinema scene this summer with "Darling Lili" premiering at the Cinerama Dome on Sunset Blvd. on Tuesday and -'On A Clear Day" opening at Loew's Beverly Theater in Beverly Hills on July 8. Both pictures boast many fine and noteworthy qualities and succeed in entertaining.

(They will be reviewed in these pages when the films open.) The screening of "On A Clear Day" was anything but "clear." It almost gave producer Koch and director Vincente Minnelli ulcers. It was an evening to remember. Studio boss Evans assembled the largest star turnout in recent memory for the occasion in addition to bringing in the critics. In the middle of the screening lights went on accompanied by an announcement by Koch: A couple of reels of film were missing. A motorcyclist immediately was dispatched to the studio to round out the reels.

Meanwhile, a nervous Koch was running up and down the aisles assuring the guests the rest of the picture definitely would be shown. Some curious viewers were more demanding as to what happens in the second half. In fact, to another film company executive, seated next to this reporter, Koch revealed that "The girl (Barbra Streisand) falls for him (Yves Montand)." But other than that the guests didn't seem to be bothered by the wait, especially when Paramount toppers ordered the Chasen's people, there to cater a supper party after the showing, to open the bar. Finally, a half-hour later, the rest of the film arrived. In the hurry somebody goofed again.

This time they sent the right film, but it was the working copy, the one film cutters work on. So it turned out, it was 20 minutes longer than the final copy and there were some rough spots. Anyway it was an entertaining screen fare and nobody seemed to mind the delay or the work copy. The theater was so jammed that such luminaries as the Gregory Pecks, Danny Kaye and the Edward G. Robinsons had to settle for seats literally a few feet from the huge screen. After the showing the Chasen's men moved in the tables and the chairs along with their famous chili. Among the notables occupying the tables were Ernest Borgnine, Natalie Wood, Ross Hunter with Nancy Sinatra Walter Matthau, Evans' wife Ali McGraw, moviemaker Mer-vyn LeRoy, Red Buttons, Hugh O'Brian, producer of spooky films Bill Castle, Janet Leigh, Angela Lans-bury, Marty Allen, Clint Eastwood, Rod Taylor and Liza Minnelli.

Incidentally, a couple of nights later Liza opened at the Now Grove and practically everybody who was at the "On A Clear Day" screening showed up there.
