Crimcstoppers in Prince George is offering a reward up to 52,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of a native Indian family which disappeared last August. Ronnie and Doreen Jack, both 26, their children Russell, 9, and Ryan, 4, were last seen on Aug. 2, 1989.

Police note that on Aug. 1 Ronnie Jack met an unknown man in the First Litre Pub who offered him and his wife jobs at a logging camp five miles past Bednesti in the Cluculz Lake area. Mention was made of a daycare facility being available at (he logging camp site which would take their two children while they worked. Ronnie was offered a job bucking logs and Doreen as a cook's helper in the camp kitchen. The four Jack family members left their house at 2116 Strathcona Avenue with the unknown man in his vehicle at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Aug. 2. They have not been seen or heard from since. The man who offered the Jacks employment is described as white, 35 to 40 years old with a clear complexion. He is between 6' and 6' 5" tall weighing 200-275 described as hefty but not fat.

He had a moustache, short beard and brownish red hair to the bottom of his ears and parted on one side. He was wearing a cap, red checkered work shirt, faded blue jeans, a blue waist-length nylon jacket and work boots with leather fringes over the toes. Ronnie Jack is described as 5' 6" weighing 150 Doreen is 5' 2" weighing 111 Ryan Jack is 3' and 55 Russell is 4' and 90 lbs. Alvin, Indra was in the newspaper industry for 10 years the last five as assistant publisher for a community newspaper in Victoria. More members are now being sought. Higgins says the only requirements for volunteers arc that they have a valid B.C. driver's licence, "a clear conscience and a clean record." We're very pleased with them." Group president Wayne Hig-gins says the group has come a long way since its inception. They receive $20 per shift to help cover the cost of their gas. 3 is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Alexis Creek RCMP Cst. Brycc Petersen says the 20-ycar-old man's snowmobile rounded a curve in the road about 8 p.m. when it struck a horse. He was taken to Cariboo Memorial Hospital and subsequently airlifted to Lions Gate Hospital in Vancouver for treatment where he later died.

Poor visibility is believed to have been a contributing factor.
