She announced that she had made the stole in a couple of hours. All the women present were career, women, including the bride-to-be. They all work in big, demanding jobs.

Several of them un their own homes or apartments and cater to husbands, sons and daughters! The shower was a gesture of affection from this group whose friendship began on a business basis. There was no petty' gossip but there was stimulating conversation; politics, pets, taxes, homes and hobbies. The guest of honor was excited over the handsome gifts as if she were 18 and planning her first wedding! There are no "older" women, Grandma types, among, women who must pursue careers, be out on their own and meet the public. The gift table was centered with a miniature bride and bridegroom in a silver bowl surrounded by white camellias and flanked by silver cande-labras with white tapers. The party rooms were decorated with pink and white camellias. The program consisted of readings by Mrs. James Everidge and vocal selections by Miss Mary Lib Everidge. Mary Jo Crum accompanied at the piano.
