"He touched a lot of lives," Revelia said. "He was always prepared to help anybody anytime." After retirement, Mr.

Eicher traveled with his wife of 59 years, Martha. The couple often drove across the country to visit a daughter in Arkansas and a grandson in San Antonio, Texas. In addition to his wife and granddaughter, Mr. Eicher is survived by two daughters, Rebecca E. Benhart, Palm Harbor, and Mar-ta Bender, Witts Springs, five grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

A son, Donald Wayne died two years ago. Arrangements are being handled by Moss-Feaster Funeral Homes Dunedin Chapel. The family plans to have a memorial service but has not set a date. In lieu of flowers, they request donations be made to American Cancer Society. national Association of Approved Basketball Officials and a recipient of the West Coast Officials Award.

He was named District Director of the Decade (1980s) by Florida Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association and TeacherEducator of the Year Award in 1985 by the Pinellas County School Board. From his 1988 retirement until this past school year, Mr. Eicher volunteered at sporting events at Dunedin High School. "He was active in all kinds of community goings-on. I can't go anywhere that someone doesn't know him," Revelia said.

"Everything was for the youth. He cared so much about the kids and giving them lots of himself." Mr. Eicher was born in Scott-dale, and came here in 1957 from Morgantown, W.Va. He earned a bachelor's degree in 1937 at West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buchanan, W.Va., and a master's degree in 1946 at West Virginia University in Morgan-town. He played basketball at WVU and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 1992.

He was a Boy Scout counselor and a 110-pint donor to Hunter Blood Center. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing. Mr. Eicher's memberships included Dunedin United Methodist DUNEDIN Donald Wayne Eicher, a longtime teacher and coach at Dunedin High School, died Wednesday (Aug. 21, 1996) at Mease Hospital Dunedin.

He was 83. In a career spanning more than a half-century, Mr. Eicher taught 20 years in West Virginia before moving to Florida and teaching two years at Dunedin Middle School and 30 years at Dunedin High School. At the high school, he taught drivers education and physical education and served as a first-aid instructor, a CPR coordinator, a Highland Games official and a blood bank chairman. "He was not your typical 83-year-old.

I never looked at him as being old," said his granddaughter, Susan Revelia of Palm Harbor. "Up until he retired he rode his bike 2 miles to school every day." During his 25 years of coaching, Mr. Eicher officiated basketball, baseball, football, wrestling and volleyball. He led a wrestling team to a state championship in West Virginia and officiated football games for Clearwater, Dunedin and Tarpon Springs police athletic leagues. 21, 1996) at home. She was born in Gassaway, W.Va., and came here in 1975 from Alexandria, where she worked 28 years as a secretary for Naval Air Systems Command. She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church at Countryside, Clearwater, Countryside Country Club Bowling League and Senior Citizens Golf Association. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Charles a daughter, Kay McAllister, Falls Church, a stepson, David C. Egeler, Brookeville, and two grandsons.

Curlew Hills Funeral Home, Palm Harbor. KOCH, WILLIAM 87, of Clearwater, died Wednesday (Aug. 21, 1996) at Columbia Clearwater Community Hospital. He was born in Hobo-ken, and came here last year from Long Island, N.Y. He worked as an auditor for the former Republic Aviation, now Fairchild Industries.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of All Saints Bowling Team, New York. FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND REHABILITATIVE SERVICES This state agency works with clients who have many needs, from welfare to foster care.

Needed: suitcases and travel bags, non-perishable food, clothing, baby clothes, baby food, diapers, cribs, strollers, furniture, dressers, beds, highchairs, etc. Call for pickup: 588-3728. PINELLAS VILLAGE 8384 Bayou Boardwalk, provides housing and support services to single-parent families who are trying to attain self-sufficiency. All parents attend technical school or college while in the program. Needed: diapers, food gift certificates, volunteers for special projects, tutors, mentors and office work.

THE STEPPING STONE 158 Ridge Road NW, provides low-cost housing and support counseling for homeless, single-parent families who are undergoing transition from crisis situations. Needed: diapers (especially large sizes), cleaning supplies, paper goods, shower curtains, pots and pans, soap, personal hygiene items, household items, gift certificates for food and money. Harrison Ave. A joint project of Morton Plant Hospital, Community Health Centers of Pinellas and the Salvation Army, this agency provides prenatal care, full pediatric services and a full range of social services on sliding-scale basis.

The need for services has doubled within the last year; they now serve 2,000 per month. They need cash donations for an expansion project. QUEST INN 509 Fort Harrison is a self-help program for young adults (ages 18-35), which provides emergency shelter, food, clothing and crisis intervention counseling.

Needed: cash, especially cash for painting supplies, plants and garden tools, 386 or 486 computer with modem, canned goods, personal hygiene items (especially shampoo and deodorant), alarm clocks, towels, bicycles for job transportation, bicycle locks, can openers and paper products. He was born in Pasadena, and came here in 1986 from Georgia. He worked as a meat cutter at Santa Madeira Restaurant, Kash n' Karry and Food Lion. He was an Army veteran, a member of Oakhurst United Methodist Church and a volunteer at the VA Medical Anna; a daughter, Ann Ryberg, St. Petersburg; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. LEVINE, ELEANOR, 71, of Clearwater, died Wednesday (Aug. 21, 1996) at Maimonides Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y. She was born in Brooklyn and came here in 1974 from Long Island, N.Y. She was a homemaker, a member of Temple B'nai Israel and its sisterhood and a charter member of ORT. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Dr.

18, 1996) in Anaheim Hills. She was born in Summitville, came here in 1972 from Somerville. N.J.. and Center at Bay Pines. E. James Reese Funeral Home and Crematory, Seminole. STOOF, GEORGE 76, of Seminole, died Wednesday (Aug. 21, 1996) at Columbia University General Hospital, Seminole. He was born in Pittsburgh and came here in 1979 from Parma, Ohio.

He worked several years as a rigger for Tesar Trucking Cleveland. He was a member of First Christian Church, Largo, Disabled American Veterans and Bay Pines Satellite Group. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Wilma; a son, Wayne Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, WEBER, JAMES 41, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday (Aug. 14, 1996) at home.

There are no known survivors. Abbey Parklawn Funeral Home, Palm Harbor. moved in 1987 from Clearwater to Anaheim Hills. She was a Methodist and a member of Order of the Eastern Star. Needed: non-violent toys, clay, educational material, new clothing for children ages 2-5, craft items and volunteer craft instructors. Call 725-9777. SALVATION ARMY 410 Fort Harrison provides material assistance for rent and utilities, as well as services such as information referral and counseling. Needed: linens, towels, furniture, Clearwater AIDS COALITION PINELLAS 1 1 80 Cleveland provides emotional and practical support for those in Pinellas county who are infected or affected by AIDS. Needed: canned food, tuna, Ensure, paper goods, personal hygiene items, computers, software, hardware and service.

They also need buddies to work one-on-one with AIDS clients. Call 449-2437. CLEARWATER FREE CLINIC 707 Ft. Harrison Ave. This agency provides free health care to those who have no insurance and who do not qualify for government aid.

The clinic treats nearly 7,200 children and adults yearly. Needed: cash, volunteers (medical and non-medical), paper goods, postage stamps, office supplies and cleaning products. Call 447-3041. COMMUNITY PRIDE 1 235 Holt is a non-profit child caredevelopment center for preschool children whose parents need help. Needed: cash, disposable diapers, paper towels, high chairs, Portacrib sheets, strollers, craft supplies, toys, children's books, cleaning supplies, volunteers to rock babies and read to older children.

Call 446-5964. EVERYBODY'S TABERNACLEHOMELESS EMERGENCY PROJECT 11 20 Betty Lane, provides shelter, food baskets, transportation and dinners for the poor.

Needed: canned foods, children's shoes and clothes, diapers, grocery store gift certificates, furniture, linens, kitchen supplies, blankets, large mobile homes, bicycles for job transportation, bus passes, personal hygiene items, a computer, office supplies, art supplies and money. Madeira Beach FERGUSON, MEDA, 90, of Madeira Beach, died Thursday (Aug. 22, 1996) at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Petersburg. She came here in 1948 from her native Bay City, where she was a sales representative for a dress shop.

She was Protestant. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Jensen, Mission Veijo, a brother, Erwin Uhlmann, Florida; a niece, Joanne Gridley, Madeira Beach; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Lewis W. Mohn Funeral Home, Seminole. Largo HECK, PAUL 83, of Largo, died Wednesday (Aug.

21, 1996) at home. He was born in Elk Point, S.D., and came here in 1981 from Umatilla, Ore. He worked as a dental equipment installer. He was a Catholic and a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, Walter L.

TAMPA BAY HARVEST is a transportation network of volunteers. These volunteers, using their own vehicles, commit one hour per week to collect donated food from restaurants, supermarkets, hospitals, produce stands, schools, and other food sources. The food is then taken to area agencies assisting the needy of the community. Needed: gallon and larger plastic containers and bags, volunteers for transportation, team leaders and phone help.
