The latter, however, supposed that the Township Trustee, had taken possession of the avenue as soon as It waa completed, and as a result of this misunderstanding on both sides the road has been neglected and uncared for by any author-tries ever since ft was completed. This state of affairs was brought to tbe at tention of the County Commissioners yesterday by an Inquiry from Mr.

Sampson. one of the Township Trustees, aa to when the road would be formally transferred to them. The members of the board were surprised to learn that the Trustee, had ot taken charge of the road as soon as it ia finished and opened to travel. Presi dent Breen explained to Mr. Sampson that th.

County Commissioners never make any formal transfers of a road to the Township Trustees, bat that the latter usually have centre I of roads as soon aa they are finished and open to the public without any notice from the County Co mm Issloners, Mr. Bampeon stated tnat tney nave been waiting patiently for a notice of transfer to them, and on that account did not take charge of the road. He said that some of tbe drains end seerers tn the roed are too low and should be raised, and h. wanted to know whether the Commissioners could not do this.
