There Is nothing as yet to Interfere with navigation. but there Is a chance ot a sudden severe cold snelL and a freeze no. The regular winter ateamera are lust taking plaeea on their routes. Beside the line out of Milwaukee to Grand Haven, the Goodrich Company will run several steamers between Milwaukee and Ludington. and also a steamer out of Chicago connecting with the two lines out of Milwaukee, and touching at various west ana east shore ports.

She left Clay Banks twentr-four anead of the Evening Star, which arrived here on Sunday. It Is hard to aeeount for her delay, for she has certainly met with no disaster on this shore or we should have beard of it. Her cargo Is consigned to Mueller Christy. Tha Evening Star goes to Manitowoc to lie up. The little schooner D.

A. Wells expects tore-turn here with a cargo of fish. The Merchant aad Graham Brothers are also still coming here With cargoes. The propeller Trnesdell is one ot the Goodrich steamers which will ran daring the winter be- 1 tween Milwaukee and Ludington. The Depere.

The dredging there will be resumed In the spring.

The insurance people are confident that a cargo pool (or 1879 will be eueoeaatuiiy organized. The team barge Antelope loads a cargo of oats for Buffalo, to hold, on owner's account. She came out of dry dock yesterday, and went to the elevator. Bne has been calked. Snow In the pineries, and a fair prospeot of rood logging.
