414 Franklin Street 400 HEAD OF STOCK TO BE SOLD Big Opportunity Today and Tomorrow, Tampa Horse and Mule Exchange The biggest sale of government horses and mules that was ever held In Florida will take place today, here in Tampa. There are four hundred head of all types artillery horses, artillery mules, pack and lead mules, and near two hundred cavalry horses. It took an entire train to bring them here from the camp at Mississippi. When these are scattered to the four winds in Florida, it will mane in the neighborhood of a quarter million dollars' worth of these army animals that have been disposed of right here In Tampa. And in view of these incontrovertible facts who can say that we are not living in a land of prosperity? For these animals were not bought for pleasure or toys, but they were bought by people throughout the state who had lots of work for them, which demonstrate that we are on the eve of great prosperity.

Mr. Waldron was seen at the Maryland avenue stables, and was plainly asked if he thought it was possible to again find sale for all these animals, in view of all that had been sold. He said he was un able to answer at this time just what the results of today and Tuesday's auction sale would be. He said he fullv realized the amount of stock that had been sold here, but he said he also realized, as does every other thinking person that the gov ernment is giving the people an opopr- tunity to purchase horses and mules that were selected by the ablest veterinaries in the United States. And furthermore, these animals are now being sold at a great loss to the government; he further said that it was almost an established fact that a government animal was a sound animal and the people had learned from past ex perience that In purchasing these animals they assumed but very little risk, and now that the war is over, and all the camps are being demolished and Fold, and that there will never be another chance at government stock, as the last tram load that came here was the complete wind-up of the Mississippi camp.

Every animal from that camp has been disposed of. consequently there will be no more government sales of livestock as thev have no more to offer. He said with these facts known to the public, that he would consider it a good investment for any farmer who had a place to stable a horse or mule to be on hand and get their portion today and tomorrow of this government stock. For there is absolutely no more stock to come to Tampa nor any other part of Florida. The western states were stripped of these animals and hundreds of carloads were taken from the east and shipped back to them.

Many out-of-town buyers are expected here today and every accommodation will be given to them to get their purchases home, the railroad companies have been advised to have cars In readiness to handle all out-of-town shipments with promptness whether a person buys one mule or twenty head of horses, it can be shipped to any part of Florida almost as quickly as he can get back himself, and in view of all these facts, new homes should be found today for every government horse and mule that is now at the stables on Maryland avenue. Mr. Waldron has agreed on his own responsibility to take in payment government bonds at their full face value for any of these animals that are sold. These horse and mule sales have given Tampa considerable publicity and has brought people here from every section and it is hoped that a good crowd shows up here today.
