Danaher st. Mrs. Carol Thomsen was co- hostess.

Mrs. Richard Patterson, president, conducted a business session. New officers for the coming year included Mrs. William Sherlock Jr. vice president, Mrs.

Donald Robb secretary, Mrs. Arthur Jensen treasurer, Mrs. Ross DesEnfants recording secretary and Mrs. Thomsen extension officer. Committees appointed for the coming year and approved were: Social Mrs.

Gary Hansen chairman, Mrs. Kenneth Howell, Mrs. John Ashley, Mrs. Robert Brody and Mrs. James Anderson; ways and means Mrs.

Gary Dancz chairman, Mrs. Theodore Schwass, Mrs. William Brown III and Leonard Gavigan and service and telephone Mrs. Thiel chairman, Mrs. Robert Shaw and Mrs.

Julian Cole Jr. Mrs. Sherlock reported on the forthcoming combined parties to be held with Michigan Xi Alpha Chi Chapter: a dinner for husbands Nov. 4 and a Christmas party to Eugene Lathrop. Mrs.

Howell reported a city council meeting. Rushing was discussed and members voted not to rush this year. Mrs. Anderson gave a program about the history of "Introduction to Invitation." She explained the acceptable form of introduction today, how to acknowledge an introduction, when and where not to introduce, and both formal and informal invitations. The program was followed by a question and answer period.

Mrs. Howell received a mystery package and secret sister gifts were received by Mesdames Patterson, Anderson 'an Sherlock. Fall flowers, including straw flowers in a milk glass bowl, and burgandy candles were included in decorations and formed a center piece on the table from which molded grape salad, assorted nutmeats, mints, crackers, cookies, tea and coffee were served on in dividual trays. Next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Sherlock, 607 W.

Stanislaus Schoolhall, the irst meeting of the school year. Vernil LaPeer, president, conduct- the business session. Sister Mary Gastolda, principal, ntroduced the new teachers. Sister Mary Gabriel of Room Two, and Sister Mary Hilaria of Room Three. Enrollment this year at St Stanilaus School is 105 pupils.

Color guards from Girl Scout Troop 61 were Susan Sniegowski, Mary Soberalski, Judith Vander- Veer and Mary Lou Piotrowski. Following the meeting, a special award was received by Mrs. Richard R. Dennis and Room Three received an attendance award Refreshments were served by Mrs. Henry Marek.

Golf-Luncheon Held at Lincoln Hills Club Women of Lincoln Hills Golf Club held a golf-luncheon Thursday at the clubhouse. Mrs. William D. Garlock, Mrs. Joseph Motyka and Mrs.

Manierre a were hostesses. Mrs. James Malson was nine- hole winner. Next week golf will be played at 2 p.m. with an 18-hole two-ball foursome for all members, with special prizes.

Preceding a 6 p.m. dinner hors d'oeuvres will be served with the golf committee in charge of serving. Following the dinner, prizes of the season will be awarded and a brief business session will be held. Those planning to attend are asked to make reservations not later than Tuesday evening, Sept 19. with Mrs.

Wilber Davis, L. E. Ed- niundson, Byron H. Elder. Ralph Extension Club Holds Meeting First 1961-62 meeting of Ludington Central Extension Club was held Tuesday evening at the home of the new chairman of the club, Mrs.

Lyda Scanlon. Co-hostesses were Mrs. John Gebhart and Mrs. Mary Pehrson. Upon arrival of the members, peach delight and coffee was served from a lace-covered table featuring a centerpiece of fall flowers.

A guest of the evening was Mrs. Fred C. Schroeder. The meeting was opened with recitation of The Michigan Extension Women's Creed. A fall rally to be held Oct.

12 at 7:30 p.m. at Amber Townhall was discussed. A feature of the rally is to be a style show; the theme being "From Bags to Riches." Feed bag material is to be used for dress materials, with members of the various clubs taking part in the show. Following the business meeting a most interesting account was given by Mrs. Russell Whitman and Mrs.

Schroeder who made a trip to Denmark, Sweden and Finland last summer. The trip to Scandinavian countries was made by jet plane and the return trip by ship. One of the highlights of the visit was a short stay at the Arctic Circle in Finland; the first part of May they found the weather extremely cpld and were unprepared for this experience. Mrs. Whitman visited many relatives and found many of whom she was unaware of being related to.

Essie Armstrong of 210 N. Gaylord ave. Home and School to Hear Speaker First in a series of programs devoted to the Christian home and the Christian school, will take place Thursday, Sept. 21. when the Rev.

Fr. James C. Cusack will speak to St. Simon Home and School Association at 8 p.m. in St.

Simon school auditorium. The Rev. FT. Cusack has chosen as his topic "Parents Arc Teachers, Too!" Fr. Cusack has taught at Muskegon Catholic Central and was a former assistant of St.

Mary's Parish there. Since June, 1957, he has been assistant dioce.san director of Confraternity of Christian Doctrine of the Grand Rapids Diocese. He has specialized in religious education, especially of those not enrolled in Catholic schools. He is in charge of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine teacher training program of the diocese, and has lectured throughout the diocese and in various parts of the Midwest. The teacher training and adult education program for the Ludington-Manistee area is scheduled to begin Sept.
