a a A Professors To Dubuque (The Tribune's Iowa News Service.) DUBUQUE, County John, Duffy said FriMason Ladd of the State University of Iowa will send two professors from the university here Tuesday at m. act as "expert advisors" one: to the grand jury now investigating obscene literature charges. Duffy stated he could not re- veal names the professors from the English department of the university but that they were of "national repute." Former City Solicitor John Kintzinger was supoenaed in connection with an investigation which disclosed that three obscene literature cases, appealed to the district court from police court here, were dismissed while Kintzinger was city solicitor. Records in the office of Val Kies, clerk of the district court, showed the cases dismissed were those of Harry Jacquinot, Bert Andrews and James Norton. Jacquinot was arrested Feb.

9, 1940, fined $100 and cost by case Judge was Louis appealed to Fautsch. the The dis- trict court and on Kintzinger's motion was dismissed "in furtherance of justice." Norton and Andrews were arrested Mar. 4, 1948, and were fined $100 each by Police Judge John Oberhausen. Both cases Were appealed and dismissed on motion of the city solicitor, Bailey Farm Home Burned (The Tribune's Iowa News Service.) WEST BRANCH, IA. An eight-room farm home and all of Its contents were destroyed by fire at 4 a.

m. Friday on the Tom Bailey farm, eight miles northeast of West Branch. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Rummelis who are tenants on the farm, were awakened by smoke and went down stairs to investigate.

Mrs. Rummells called the fire department while her husband up stairs to dress. He was forced to flee from the flames through an upstairs window. The fire truck got stuck in a snowbank in the driveway to the home. A tractor, 16 firemen and neighbors succeeded in getting the truck out, but not until the flames were out of control.

Firemen said the blaze started in the basement. The loss is partly covered by insurance. Meeting Is Set On Labor Parley (The Tribune's Iowa News Service.) IOWA CITY, IA. -A meeting is scheduled here Saturday to draft plans for Iowa's first labor management conference. Business, organized labor and the public are represented on the nine-member group selected to assist the State University of Iowa's bureau of labor in management in planning the conference, to be held in May or June.

President Virgil M. Hancher will describe the university's role in the field of labor and management problems at a luncheon meeting. Mrs. Roskopf Rites In (The Tribune's Iowa News Service.) MARSHALLTOWN, Services will be at 10 a. m.

Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic church here for Mrs. Paul Roskopf, 81, who died Wednesday St. Thomas Mercy hospital. She was the mother of Father John J.
