12 KOKOMO find MORNING TIMES Monday, January 10, 1966 Obituaries Riggle death is believed suicide PERU Maynard Riggle, 64, 20 E. Washington was found dead about noon Saturday in his car which was parked along county road 325N, just west of the intersection of 440W, northwest of Peru. Mr. Riggle was believed to have died of carbon monoxide poisoning and his death was an apparent suicide, according to Miami County Coroner, Dr. Maurice Sixbey.

Authorities reported that Riggle had attached a hose to the exhaust pipe of the car and then put it in the car window. Coroner Sixbey set the time of death as sometime Friday evening. The body was foundby Robert Overmyer, a timber buyer of Burr Oak, Ind. Investigating authorities included Dr. Sixbey, Miami County Sheriff Dave Richardson, Deputy Sheriff Lowell Harmon, and State Police Detective Sgt.

Rex Dill man. Mr. Riggle was born May 25, 1902, In Peru, the son of Henry A. and Jessie E. (Bennett) Riggle.

He had never mar- ied, and was employed as an assembler at the Square Company in Peru. Surviving are threebrothers, Paul Riggle, Kokomo; Edward Riggle, East Chicago; and Grant Riggle, Long Beach, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Richardson, Peru RR 2, and Mrs. Henry Ulery, Peru. Funeral services will be In the Drake-Flowers Funeral Home at 3 p.m.

Tuesday, with the Rev. William Shewman officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. today.

Guy Anderson ELWOOD GuyR.Anderson, 84, 2315 S. died at the Miramar Nursing Home at 4:15 p.m. Saturday. He had been in ill health for the past several months. He was born Sept.

16,1879, in Aroma, and was a member of the Moose Lodge. Surviving is the widow, Gertrude; one daughter, Mrs. Edith Warner, Elwood, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the York and Dunnichay Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home anytime. Floyd Berryman PERU Floyd cleo (Tommy) Berryman, 69, Peru RR 5, died at 8 p.m.SaturdaylntheFrlend- ly Nursing Home, Peru, following an extended illness. He was born Dec. 12, 1896, in Cass County, and had lived in Cass and Miami counties his intire lifetime.

He was a member of the Peru Church of God. Survivors include two brothers and one sister, John J. Riggle, Peru; William C. Riggle, Walton; and Mrs. Otho Burkhart, Zephyr Hills, Fla.

One sister preceded him In death. Funeral services will be in the Drake Flowers Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Theodore Thompson officiating. Burial will be In the Galveston Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. today. Maude Bull Funeral services for Mrs. Maude Bull, 64, 1937 S. Main, who died at 12:45 p.m.

Saturday in St. Joseph Memorial HOS- pital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mast and Pickett Funer. al Home, Greentwon. Rev.

Milton Hall will officiate. Mrs. Bull had been ill a year. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery and friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bull was born Feb. 13, 1901, near Plevna, daughter of Harry and Do ra(Zerbe) Shrock, and married W. S. Bull in Kokomo on Nov.

16, 1938. She attended Main Street Methodist Church. Survivors Included the widower; the mother, of Greentown; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Forrest E. (Frieda) sisters, Miss Nina Shrock, Greentown, Mrs.

Clarence (Elsie) Morgan, Cassvllle, Mrs. Wallace (Mary) Slaughter, Plevna, and Mrs. Ralph (Edna) Springer, Kokomo; two brothers. Glen Shrock, Kofcomo, and Frederick C. Shrock, Amboy; nieces and nephews.

Buford Cook Buford Cook, 67, Cass City, died Sunday at 5:28 a.m. in Hills and Dales Hospital in Cass City. Born in Howard County Aug. 17, 1898, he married Blanch Creason in Kokomo Feb. 29, 1916.

He lived in Howard County until 1946, when he moved to Cass City. Survivors include, his widow, four sons; three daughters, including Mrs. Robert Long of Kokomo; two grandsons; 22 grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren. One son, one daughter and one brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at the Shiloh Methodist Church in Kokomo Wednesday at 2p.m., with the Rev.

Norman Morford In charge, assisted by the Rev. Luke Martin. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Friends may call at Peacock Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Tuesday or at the church for one hour preceding services.

Jennie Fennell Mrs. Jennie Fennell, 74, Kokomo RR 6, died Saturday at 10:20 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital where she had been a patient for about 24 hours. She was born in Howard township, Howard county Jan.

10, 1891, daughter of Albert and Kate Willits Touby. She was married Feb. 16, 1916 to W. R. Fennell who survives.

Other survivors include one son, Harold J. Fennell of Sharpsville; daughters, Mrs, Herman (Alice) Carter of Rus- slaville and Miss Esther Fennell who lives at home; sisters, Mrs. Harley (Alice) Kurtz of Kokomo and Mrs. W. S.

(Bessie) Lovejoy of Kokomo; a brother, Emmett P. Touby of Kokomo. Seven grandchildren also survive. Two sisters are deceased. She was a member of the Prairieville United Church of Christ and the Women's Fellowship of the church.

She and her husband lived on the same farm all their lives. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Fenn Funeral Home with the Rev. Gordon Clarke and the Rev. Marlon J.

Williams officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call after 3p.m. today at Fenn Funeral Home, Scott Funeral Home, Russla- vllle, is in charge of arrangements. Ollie Lewis ELWOOD Mrs.

Ollie Lewis, 1925 S. died at her home early Sunday after an illness of several weeks. She was born Oct. 24,1891, in Kentucky. She married Hubert H.

Lewis in 1908. He died In 1959. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Thomas Lewis, Anderson, and James Lewis, Harrletsburg, three daughters, Mrs.

Mary Rainey, Mrs. Frances Watson and Mrs. Dorothy Sallee, all of Elwood; two brothers, Grundy Cutsinger and Ed Cutslnger and a half-sister, Mrs. Sally Mattingly, all of Kentucky; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The body was taken to Gopher and Fesler Funeral Home where friends may call anytime.

Services are pending. Miriam Manich LOGANSPORT Services are pending at the Kroeger Funeral home for Mrs. Miriam Manich, 64, who died at her home In Phonlx, Ariz. She was born in Carroll county Sept. 23,1901, the daughter of Charles and Clara Mo Laughlin Herr.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Parten, 1125 Danbury Kokomo, and three grandchildren. Robert McDonald LOGANSPORT Robert R. McDonald, 82, 327 Cliff died at 12:25 a.m. Saturday in Memorial hospital, following a lengthy Illness.

Born in Deer Creek Sept. 15, 1883, he was a retired landscape artist and gardner. Survivors include the widow, Laura; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Brown, 427 Day; two grandchildren, Mrs. Sharon McClock- lin, 1500 Miles, and Robert Brown, 1431 N.

Third; one great-grandson; one sister, Mrs. Floyd Hultz, Logansport; three brothers, Bruce, of Indianapolis, Carl, Monticello, and Harry, of Edwardsburg, Mich. One son, Robert preceded him In death. He was a charter member of the Knights of Pythias, Wood, men of the World, and was treasurer of the carpenters union for 33 years. The union will conduct special services at 7:30 p.m.

today at the McCloskey-Hamllton-Kahle funeral home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. G.

Timothy Miller PERU Timothy Joe Miller, 16, Amboy RR 1, died at 5 p.m.

Saturday, of an apparent heart attack, at the home of a friend, Mason Helton, Amboy RR 5. He had suffered from a heart condition for some time, but death was unexpected. The youth was a sophomore at Maconaquah High School and had spent his entire lifetime in the Santa Fe Community. He was born Oct. 14, 1949, in Miami County, the son of Warren E.

and Ruth (Freeman) Miller, who survive. Surviving with the parents are three brothers, Jack, Daniel, and Steven Miller, all at home; and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Miller, Peru RR 5, and Pliny Freeman, Kokomo RR 3. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday, In the Laird and Son Funeral Home, Amboy. The Rev. Robert Long will officiate and burial will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery. Luther Minglin LOGANSPORT Luther J. MlnRlin, 84, New Waverly, died at 12:30 a.m.

Sunday in St. Joseph hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born July 30, 1881, at Hoopston, 111. Survivors include one son, John of New Waverly; two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Mack, Maderia Beach, Mrs.

Pearl Basham, Souths end; several nieces and nephews and 10 great-grandchildren. He retired from the Pennsy- vania railroad in 1948. Funeral services will be at the Fisher Funeral home, Rev. By ran Clemens officiating. Interment in the Miami Baptist cemetery near New Waverly.

Mildred Salmon FRANKFORT Mrs. Mildred Salmon, 59, 951 N. Harrison, died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday at the Clinton County Hospital after a three month illness. She was a member of the Frankfort First Methodist Church and was Past Worthy Matron of the Frankfort Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

"She was married to Melvin F. Salmon June 28, 1930. He died in 1964. Survivors include a sister and two brothers, a niece and nephew. Funeral services will at 1:30 p.m.

today at the Goodwin Funeral Home with Frank R. Greer and Rev. James Copeland officiating. Burial will be In the Kilmore Cemetery. Mattie Pennington Mrs.

Mattie M. Pennington, 84, 1026 S. Purdum, died at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Hostlpal, were she had been a patient for six days.

She was born July 2, 1881, in Carroll County, and lived in Kokomo most of her live. She was a member of the Main St. Methodist Church and the Clay Township Home Demonstration Club. She married Charles C. Pen- nlngton in 1905 and he died Jan.

4, 1944. Survivors include one son, Lloyd Pennington, Kokomo; three grandchildren, one great- grandchild, one brother, C. Vern Hurley, New Hall, one sister, Mrs.FrankThomas, Clearwater, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Main Street Methodist Church, with the Rev.

Russell Hall officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fenn Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday and at the church for one hour proceeding service. Robbie E.

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin D. Ray, 1623 S. Webster, died unexpectedly at home early Saturday.

The mother is the formerMissDianneShoe- maker. Other survivors are the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. TheronShoemakerand Mrs. Janiece Helms and Ben F.

Ray, all of Kokomo, and great-grandparents, Mrs. Geneva Osteen, Crystal River, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Massey, RR 2, Kokomo, and Mr. and Mrs.

John Ray, New Castle. Jacob Ulery PERU Jacob Arthur (Jake) Ulery, 76, was found dead at his home, 270 N. Grant, p.m. Sunday by a friend, Walter Huffman, 283 W. Eighth.

He had been in poor health for some time. City police were notified, and they said it was believed Mr. Ulery had been dead since Thursday. Born Oct. 19, 1889, in Cass County, he was married in 1911 to Helen K.

(Nellie) Hammil, who survives. Surviving with the widow is one daughter, Mrs. Helen Householder, Peru; three brothers and three sisters, Henry and Chester Ulery and Mrs. Harriet Beeson, all of Peru; Norman Ulery, Nashville, Mrs. Thelma Hecht, Michigan City, and Mrs.

Opal Sever In, Flint, four grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Several brothers and sisters preceded him in death. The body was removed to the Drake-Flowers Funeral Home where services are pending. Dorothy Westfall Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday for Mrs.

Esco (Dorothy) Westfall, 62, at Evans- Godby-Trout Funeral Home, Noblesville, and burial will be i Noblesville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. Mrs. Westfall died in Riverview Hospital, Noblesville, at 2:35 p.m.

Saturday. She was 111 several years. Born in Tipton County, she spent her early year sin the tie New York community. Her husband died several years ago and Mrs. Westfall had lived In Kokomo about five years with a sister, Mrs.

William (Rita) Brown, before moving to Noblesville. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William (Avonelle) Small, near Cicero, and Mrs. Wayne (Nelna Mae) Yancey, Noblesville; a son, Harold Westfall, OJai, two sisters, Mrs. Brown and Mrs.
