CHIO50 HEIGHTS STAR, TUESDAY, JULY 12, 1938 i M1B Playgrounds Plan Last in Series of Shows, Parades Two Chicago Heights playgrounds sponsor doll parades and style ihows this week to complete the projeete held at the ive local play centers. The postponed Waeker park event will be held at 7:10 o'clock this evening at the playground and the Jirtle show and parade are scheduled at tomorrow evening. At the Jirtle event tomorrow evening the parade will be headed by the Junior Legion drum and bugle corps. In the procession will be a group of boys with hand pets, followed by the younger girls with their decorated doll buggies and the older girls who are taking part in the style show. Thursday evening Mrs.

Charles Bowles, Mrs. Lloyd Flora snd Mrs. George Martin were Judges at the Euclid event. Teresa Angellottl snd Louis Costabile won the ribbon for the best ensemble, June Bloom took the award for being "the most typical mother," Pear' Urbantl won the ribbon for the best decorated Jo Anne ShowalUr was judged "the daintiest mother" and Elmer Burton and Anthony Attained took the ribbons tor the most original costumes. A cast of local young men and women is rehearsing under direction of Miss Elizabeth Lelsing. The play Is In three acts and is taken directly from the famous book. The performance Wednesday evening, July 27, Is planned especially for children and the performance the following evening is for adults.

The club women will arrange for the organization's annual outing to be held Thursday, July 21, at Michigan City, Ind. Mrs. Mary Foushl, club president, is general chairman of arrangements for the annual picnic. Lincolnshire Argentine Party Slated Saturday Lincolnshire Country club will have "A Night iii the Argentine" dance Saturday evening at the clubhouse as a part of Its cruise party series for the season. Some of the women wtU take part in the golf events during the morning and afternoon, and those not wishing to play golf are Invited to participate in the card games. The Women's division of the Democratic club has suspended its activity during the summer months but plsns to resume a crowded schedule in the Fall Welfare League Outlines Budget for Year's Work A budget for the year's activity of the Infant Welfure league of Chicago Heights was outlined Friday morning when women of the league's board rrtet in the home of the president, Mrs. C. P.

Berolzheimer. Committee appointments will be made during the summer months and the league will also continue its schedule of three clinics each month during the summer. The league shares in proceeds of the annual Chicago Heights Welfare drive. The next board meeting will be held in September. Miss Lily Ciarrocchi Honor Guest at Party Mrs.

John Genna, Miss Emelia and Miss Mary Ciarrocchi were co-hostesses Saturday evening at a shower honoring Miss Lily Ciarrocchi, whose marriage will be read thin month. Harvey, Local K. of C. to Install Officers Tonight Members cf the Chicago Heights council of the Knights of Columbus and of Garcia Morena council of the same organization in Harvey are to meet this evening in the- Democratic clubrooms on Otto boulevard for Joint Installation ol officers. The meeting is scheduled to get under way at eight o'clock. District Deputy Henry Hllgendorf, of Harvey, will serve as the installing officer.

Casimir Serafln as grand knight heads the lilt of men to be instilled for the local council. Harvey's council will have its complete staff of officers here for the installation. Following installation ceremonies there will be an informal social hour with refreshments. Daughters of Trinity to Sponsor Picnic July 21 Meeting Thursday afternoon In the church, members of the Daughters of Trinity of the Trinity Lutheran church chose Thursday, July 21, as the date for their annual picnic outing, it has been announced. L. Llpschutz Is chairman of the committee in charge. The women have planned to have the social indoors in case of rain and to repeat the event the following evening. In addition to serving refreshments at the event the committee plans for special entertainment features, including games and booths. In previous years the so- cU! has netted good-sized sums of money for the auxiliary work and the women are anticipating a successful event this year.

The Hospital auxiliary plans for social meeting Tuesday of next week in the hospital --o-Bible Class Plans Supper, Band Concert Friday The Men's Bible class of the Italian church has arranged for a supper event to be followed by a band concert Friday evening in the Community Center. Women of the church are assisting the men in arrangements for the event and will serve the supper at 6:30 o'clock at the Center. The Griffith band of Munster, will provide the concert following supper. Al Leone is president of the men's class. He heads the committee in charge of arrangements and Is assisted by Paul Cellini, Val D'Alessandro and Nick Aprati: The class was recently organized at the church and the event this week is the first large social affair sponsored by the group.

The Rev. E. R. G. Cupo, pastor of the church, is adviser of the class.

Summer Recital The sixth in the series of ten weekly summer recitals by piano pupils of Mrs. Margaret Quinn- Fox is slated at two o'clock Friday afternoon in the studio. Robert Ervin and family and Mr. and Mrs. George Brown and son, all of Chicago Heights, were in Gary Friday attending funeral services for a relative, Mrs. John Brown, who died Wednesday following a lingering illness. Merle Gilbert, of Buena Vista avenue, left Saturday for California where she will visit with her sisters at San Francisco ana Stockton for the remainder of the summer.

Her vacation plans also include a week's cruise on the Pacific ocean. Miss Evelyn Seidel and Miss Marjorle Lanham, of Chicago Heights, left Sunday morning for a trip to Washington, D. nnd New York city. Golfers Will Play in Blind Bogey Event Women golfers of the Chicago Heights Country club will meet tomorrow afternoon to play in a blind bogey event at the regular weekly afternoon of golf. After the golf game will enjoy the customary social hour when loaers in the team play event of last will entertain the winners. The women golfers ere also in charge of the third Sunset golf match of the season slated for next Sunday when men and women golfers will compete in the event Last Friday afternoon the worn- en card players competed in the contract tourney.

Mrs. Robert Holbrook and Mrs. Dana Elliott were the day's prize winners. The tournament will continue at the weekly dessert-bridge this Friday afternoon at the clubhouse. Club Mrs.
