Dog days in Hawaii Dog lovers' eyes are on Hawaii because of a case currently in appeal over the rights of the sight-impaired to take guide dogs into the state.

Hawaii's strict laws require that all dogs entering the state be quarantined for 120 days effectively barring visitors with guide dogs, says the American Society of Travel Agents in a brief supporting the appeal. Better shuttle, more money Next year, Alaska's Denali National Park and Preserve, site of Mount McKinley, plans to have bigger, better, more comfortable shuttle buses that'll take more people into the park, which is restricted to motorized vehicles at Mile 15. The bad news is the shuttle buses will cost more money. Kids 12 and under will ride free, but adults will be paying from $12 to $30 (plus $3 per person or $5 per family entrance fee). This summer, a family of four taking the shuttle as far as it goes, Wonder Lake (Mile 85), and back, would pay $21. Next summer, a family of four will pay $65 for the same trip.
