Mother Jailed On Charge Of Child Cruelty LONG BEACH. Calif. (Ji — A mother is accused of burning her three children by holding their' hands over a lighted stove to punish them for playing with fire. Mrs. Eda Moad, 30. was jailed on a cruelty warrant signed by Mu-; nicipal, Judge Lyman B. Sutler Monday and held in lieu of SI,000 bond. The complaint alleges Mrs. Moad burned the hands of Katherine, 4. and Robert, 5, last Jan. 24. She is accused of burning the hands of the third child, Edward, 9, last October. Police said Katherine received second-degree burns on both hands and Robert was burned on the left hand. Mrs. Moad's husband is a petty officer aboard a ship at Guam.
