Framed in a glass case on the wall are the shapes of all 26 letters of the English alphabet and numbers 1 through 10. Jacob Foxbower found them growing naturally on trees or shrubs. It took eight years to complete the collection, which started with in 1924 and ended with in 1932. Although the latest addition to the museum was a pheasant added three years ago, Gerald Foxbower still prowls for exhibits.

Many, especially the ducks on display, were acquired locally, when hunting restrictions were lax. "Yeah, we had seven good years of country living before (the Northern transplants) all started coming down," Foxbower says. Nevertheless, their doors if not their shades are always open.
