Those Two Bright Stars in the East- It takes real downright grit to get out of bed at 3:30 to 4 o'clock in the morning, but if you enjoy star-gazing it will pay you. About that time you will find Jupiter and Venus in the East, with Venus leading off and Jupiter following close behind. The juxtaposition of these planets is unusual, The brightest the two is Venus, which of the planets is second in order from the sun. Its diameter is 7,700 miles, somewhat smaller than the Earth, and its sidereal period, which corresponds wlth'our year Is 224 days.

Jupiter is the largest of the planets, with a diameter of 85,000 miles, and it takes 4,332 days for It to revolve around the In brightness it is second only to fair Venus, which, the, morning star, the ancients called Lucifer, and in the evening it was known as Hesperus, More iMtihgs By Republicans.
