'A Tale of Two Cities. There are two embattled commonwealths that are now casting wan and cynical looks upon the 500 major leaguers starting for the sun.

The old "What of it?" look is upon their faces. For in the first training scrimmages of the year they are wondering when the great drought will end. These two cities are St. Louis and Washington. They are the only two major league cities in baseball that have not won a pennant in the last fifteen years or in the last thirty years.

Since 1908 New York, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Brooklyn have all heard the flutter of the flag above triumphant fields. In the last fifteen years New York alone has known eleven Tien- cating that Quintin Romero-Rojas, the Missouri Valley basketball be matcBed with Bobby Sowash, clever Rock Island Junior lightweight, in a six or eight round fight at the Auditorium Friday race, will make their last home appearance tonight in a game the Chilean, has accepted "Tex" Rickard's proffered opportunity to follow the path cut by Luis fought, rough struggle last night, 24 to 18. Myers again put Still in the lead when he made another field goal from under the basket. Ho came back with a long goal from near the center of the court, the basket putting Still in the lead by four points. The contest, which was a struggle all the way, gave the fans many thrills. Still started out with a rush and managed to piln up a 9 to 2 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second period the Catholics scored five points while Still made only two markers and the score was 11 to 7 at half time.
