The Rev. Hutchins was born in Millersburg, 111., and came here in 1972 from Chicago. He was an ordained minister for I'SmS CJ Assemblies of God International i Fellowship. This month marked I I his ministry's 50th anniversary. The Rev.

Hutchins was deeply affected by the film adaptation of David Wilkerson's book The Cross and the Switchblade, which stars Pat Boone as David Wilkerson and Erik Estrada as Nicky Cruz. He secured film rights from the American Baptist Association and set a goal of translating the movie into 100 different languages. At the time of his death, 30 versions were completed or under production. "He thought this was the way to draw people who are not Christians," said Gibson, chief executive officer of World Film Crusade, a non-profit corporation film ministry founded by the Rev. Hutchins.

"He saw it as a way to reach people who would never come to a religious service." The Rev. Hutchins attended Moody Bible Institute, Northern Baptist Seminary and New Tribes Institute. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Wilma; two sons, Richard, Des Plaines, 111., and Perry, Queens Village, N.Y.; four daughters, Vickie Smith, Lindenhurst, 111., Carol Cymbala, Little Neck, N.Y., Jackie Price, Holiday, and Cynthia Makeeff, Amesbury, his mother, Inez Bullimore, Monmouth, 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Curlew Hills Funeral Home in Palm Harbor.

A wake is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. today at First Assembly of God Church, 1739 Greenwood Largo. The funeral is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday. didn't like Clair Hutchins," said The REV.

CLAIR HUTCHINS Brother John Gibson, the Rev. Hutchins' associate minister for 17 years. "That's because he loved everybody. He really did." The Brooklyn Tabernacle, which the Rev. Hutchins started in 1967, is one of the largest full gospel churches in New York.

Its 250-member choir won the 1994 Grammy Award for church choirs. The Rev. Hutchins led mission programs in Africa and crusade programs in South America and Korea. Attendance at some of the crusades reached 100,000. He worked in more than 100 countries during his lifetime.

O'CONNOR, CORNELIUS, 88, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (May 14, 1994) at Edward White Hospital. Born in Ireland, he came here in 1972 from New York City, where he was a subway motorman for the New York Transit Authority for 43 years. Seminole KINYOUN, HUGH L. 66, of Seminole, died Friday (May 13, 1994) at Northside Hospital, St. Petersburg. He was born in North Wilkesboro, N.C., and came here in 1977 from Winston-Salem, N.C. He was a truck driver and a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.

National Cremation Society, Largo. MEINHARDT, IRENE ELIZABETH, 86, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (May 15, 1994) at St. Anthony's Hospital. She was born in Cleveland and was a saleswoman at May Department Store for 40 years.

She came here in 1984 from Euclid, Ohio. She was a Christian Scientist. Survivors include a son, Thomas Falls-ton, three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes, Ninth Street Chapel, St. Petersburg.
