Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grefe of Ames spent Sunday in Des Moines with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Woods, 2727 Thirty-eighth st.

Mr. and Mrs. William Sedgwick, 1106 Forty-fourth are spending a few days at Clear Lake, Mrs. Harry Armstrong has returned from Knoxville where she spent several days visiting Mr. and Mrs.

Fred P. Woodruff. Donald David and Carl Alt, students at Iowa State college at Ames, spent the weekend in Des Moines. The Rev. and Mrs.

C. H. Jope of Washington, D. are guests at the E. L.

Bevington home, 1436 Twenty-second while here to attend the international convention of the Disciples of Christ. The Rev. Mr. Jope was formerly pastor of the Mondamin Avenue Church of Christ here. Mrs.

Ruth Hippee, 3311 Crescent drive, has returned from Wisconsin where she visited with Mrs. Hugh Curtis at the latter's lodge. Miss Katherine Fullerton, who has been spending several days in Chicago, has gone from there to Pennsylvania. Mr. and Mrs.

Donald Fullerton and daughter, Alexia, have returned to their home in Riverside, Cal. Miss Candace Alig, who has been spending several months visiting in the east, was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Chapin of Greenwich, over the weekend.

FINKBINE of Pasadena arrived last week for a stay Des Moines home, 1915 Grand ave. Mrs. Finkbine and Mrs. Robert Finkbine and daughters, Adelaide and Helen Louise, sailed through the Panama canal to New York City. The girls are at the Shipley school, Bryn Mawr, Penn.

Mrs. Robert Finkbine, who is visiting in New York City, will come on to join Mrs. E. C. Finkbine here later.

Mrs. Charles V. Keith, 2510 Forest drive, and Mrs. George M. Hippee, 415 Forty-second left Sunday morning to spend 10 days or two weeks in Chicago.

Mrs. Hippee will visit her son, George Polk Hippee. Mrs. Richard R. Rollins, 7 Thirtyfifth and Mrs.

Dennis Kelly, 543 Forty-third left Sunday night for Minneapolis where, as Des Moines Junior league delegates, they will attend the National Welfare conference. They will return Friday or Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Delavan, 422 Thirty-eighth Street place, are expecting as their guest Friday Mrs.

Charles R. Pettis of Columbus, who will spend a week in Des Moines. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Fisher, 4315 Harwood drive, will leave Wednesday for Excelsior Springs, where they will spend days with Mrs.

Fisher's parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Blethroad of Afton, Ia. Mrs.

Harvey Thorsen, 2835 Kingman left Saturday morning to spend a week in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Theodor Rehmann, accompanied by Mrs. Rehmann's mother, Mrs.

Roll one-third inch thick.

Spread with butter and sprinkle with one-half of the sugar. Arrange peeled and sliced apples over this spread top with remaining sugar and cinnamon.
