The Warriors were to meet the winner of this mornings Kaskaskla-South- eastern game for the title. A Rend Lake loss would bring the Warriors and either Kaskaskia or Southeastern back at noon Saturday (or the championship. Rend Lake went Into today's game the only undefeated team in the double- elimination meet. The Warriors yesterday defeated Southeastern 10-6 in 10 innings.

The regulation nine-innings game ended with the two clubs tied at 6-6. Rend Lake's four 10th inning runs were scored by Dave Scott, Steve Crane, Jody Gaunt and Mark Hefner. The Rams' frosh-soph squad posted a 90-46 victory. In the varsity meet, the Rams won 15 of the 18 events, losing only the 100, 220 and pole vault. In the frosh-soph meet, Mt. Vernon also won 15 of the 18 events. The Rams will participate In the Orphan Relays at Centralia Saturday.

HILDEBRANOT CORP. Prom Gets At Bluford Sports Editor Bluford baseball coach Rod Stover Is having to recruit players to play In the district tournament Saturday at Flora. The Bluford prom Is Saturday night and six of Stover's players decided not to play in the baseball game against Flora for fear of being late for the Prom. "The players approached me and asked If they would be bacic to Bluford In time for the Prom," said Stover. "1 told them they would probably be late and then they decided not to play In the baseball game.

That left me stuck with only five players who wanted to play so 1 had to decide whether to recruit some BOB FORBES other players or forfeit the game. 1 decided to get some other players and play the game. "This Is really a big disappointment to mc," continued Stover, "because this Is the best baseball team we've had In several years. We're only 5 and 9 but you have to remember that before this year, Bluford won only two games in seven years." The Flora District pits Mt. Vernon against Wayne City In the opening game Saturday followed by the Bluford-Flora game.
