Page 4 WELLSVILLE DAILY REPORTER, WELLSVILLE. NEW YORK Tuesday, August 31,1 976 St. Bonas boasts higher enrollment ST. Bonavcn- ture University boasts an increase in enrollment as the 1976-77 school year begins with the first day of classes tomorrow. Upperclassmen completed their registration for fall courses Monday.

With an entering freshmen class of 620 and over 100 transfer and readmit students, the enrollment has topped 2100 students, an increase of 100 students over last year. Exact enrollment figures will be announced after a complete tabulation of course registration is complete. The incoming class and transfers have pushed University housing capabilities to their fullest extent, but the Office of Student Development notes no major problems have been encountered. Among the more obvious changes on the campus is the nearly-completed expansion and renovation of Hickey Memorial Dining Hall facilities. A new warehouse with a capacity of over 3,000 square feet has been added for storage of supplies.

The building's bake shop, butcher area, coolers and meat freezers have also been expanded and modernized. Perhaps the most obvious benefit in the addition is an increase of 150 seats, faster food serving lines and students will no longer wait outside before being served. Summer maintenance workers have also completed renovations in Dcvereux and Francis Halls, two University residence halls; resurfacing of the student parking lots; a new "face" of black trim on Plassmann Hall and othe'r improvements. WELLSVILLE, NEW YORK Page 5 Young dissident has strong support among steel workers C'VjAo, NOV. UPI RH Whirh nrnmicorl firtht A Qfl iirhinh L-i l' i i i Nov. (UPI) Ed young dissident LA'S VEGAS, Sadlowski, a preparing to run for presidenfoY" the big Steel Workers Unions, 1 estimated Monday that nearly one- rourth of the delegates to the union convention already support his efforts to lower dues and allow workers to on their own contracts.

Those were among the issues Sadlowski promised to fight at the union's bi-annual convention opening today. He also threatened an early floor fight "in the first 20 minutes" over convention rules, but made no promises he would win. The union currently claims a dues surplus and workers in the basic steel, aluminum and can industries do not ratify their own contracts. A self-styled reformer who at 38 heads the union's largest district in the Chicago-Gary area, Sadlowski predicted he would have the support of about 1,000 of the convention's more than 4,000 delegates. Although 1,000 votes falls far short of a majority, a strong challenge on rules, dues and contract ratification would provide the momentum from which Sadlowski could launch his campaign for the presidency against union regular Lloyd McBride of St.

Louis. "They're going to beat our brains out on every issue but, damn it, we are going to be heard," Joe Romano of Cicero, 111., declared Sunday night during a rowdy meeting of Sadlowski's supporters. McBride already has launched his candidacy and Sadlowski was expected to join stxjn in the contest to select a successor for retiring President I Abel Although the balloting will not take place until next Feb. 8, the tone of the emerging two-way race was set Sunday in hitter accusations exchanged by the two men conference that Sadlowski had a record of "no accomplishment" as a district director Sadlowski countered in an interview that his potential opponent, "impresses me as more conservative than H.L. Hunt when he was alive." The two-way race developed Sunday after union Vice President John Johns withdrew from the race and threw his support behind a so-called "unity" ticket headed by McBride.
