"But he has always been so good to me, I just couldn't resist.

"I got him a bottle of White Diamonds," Rosie continued. "You know, the Elizabeth Taylor perfume." "I didn't know it was a man's cologne," I said. "Don't be silly," Rosie chuckled. "It's not." "Now wait a minute," I was really perplexed. "Is there something about your Cousin Harry I don't know?" "Of course not," Rosie was offended.

"I just don't understands why none of the gifts you've mentioned sound appropriate for the recipient," I explained. "They are perfect for the recipient," she countered. "I'm the recipient and I will love everything I get." "Hold on," I stopped her. "Now I am really confused." "Well, you know the economy is awfully bad this year," Rosie patiently explained to me. "And every Christmas we give each other things that are put away in a drawer because we don't like them or they don't fit or something.

"Our family decided we couldn't afford to waste our money on items that are never used," she continued. "So this year, instead of exchanging gifts, we are changing gifts." "I don't get it," I said. "We are changing the names on the lb: and From: on the gift cards," Rosie said. "That way everyone will get exactly what he wants." I love this season, but .1 detest the shopping. Since mis ery loves company, I called my friend Rosie to see if she wanted to go along.

"I have been finished with my Christmas shopping for weeks," she exclaimed "You're just getting started?" she snickered "Don't be so smug," I groaned. "You know how I hate shopping. And when I don't have the slightest idea what to buy anyone, I really dread going." "I have all my gifts wrapped and ready to go," Rosie chided. "How do you know what to buy for anyone?" I questioned her. "Oh, that's easy," Rosie said.

"I buy whatever I like. For example, I bought a spandex leotard for Aunt Maude and some tights for Uncle Fred. "You knew I took up aerobics, didn't you?" she asked. "You mentioned it," I answered her vaguely. "But isn't your Aunt Maude in her 90s?" "Uh huh," Rosie admitted.

"We're really lucky she's as healthy as she is. And I bought my little niece, Jill, one of those cup holders for the car window." "Did you say you bought tights, as in dancer's tights, for your uncle?" I questioned Yes, and they are prettiest shade of light blue," Rosie stated proudly. "And I thought Jill was about 13 now," I said, a little behind in the conversation. "She's too young to have a car." And you'll never guess what I got my cousin Harry," she sounded excited. "Probably not," I stated simply.
