Ashland Lady Hurt In Spreading Alarm of Votsmier Blaze City Water Mains Not Ready to Furnish Water and Home is Destroyed Ashland- Frank S. Berg, who broke her arm in spreading a fire alarm here Sunday afternoon, is in Springfield hospital, and the Henry Votsmier home, long a landmark of this city, is in ashes as the result of the blaze.

Roscoe Mawson. The event was also in honor of James Lee Mawson's third birthday. FIREMEN EXTINGUISH BLAZE ON E. MORTON Firemen Monday morning about 9 o'clock, extinguished small roof fire at the home of Miss Anna Duffner, at 525 East Morton avenue. A small hole in the roof was the only damage, firenien using a hand pump to extinguish the blaze.

The hook and ladder wagon, driven by Fireman Wolfe, collided with an automobile driven by a Mr. Boulton of Springfield at the corner of South Main and the square on the way to the fire. The Boulton machine had an axle bent, and the fire truck had a hand pump, tool box, and extinguisher container damaged in the crash. FORMER JACKSONVILLE MAN IS HONORED Relatives here have received word that John Dyer, of El Paso, Texas, a former resident of this city has been appointed vice-president of the Nichols Copper Company in general charge of all refineries owned and operated by it. Mr.

Dyer will be Jocated in New York City and will move there the first of the year. He is a brother of Mrs. William Craddock and Mrs. Oscar Crabtree of this city. William Freezen, of Near Oxville, Dies Coroner's Jury Finds Death Due to Heart Attack; Funeral Wednesday Bluffs -William Freezen, 75.
