Both Timpe and Emmons assisted in removing the injured man to the hospital. According to reports to the police department, Nunes was driving home in his buggy about 10:30 o'clock last night. He accompanied by his wife and Mrs. Frank Nunes. An automobile said to have been driven by Everett Turner, collided head-on with the Nunes horses and buggy.

The buggy was overturned and Nunes received a bad cut on the eyelid. He at was given surgical treatment savant Hospital by Dr. T. O. Hardesty.

One of the horses received a broken and had to be killed. A third accident was reported the police by Robert Marshall. Marshall reported that an automobile was turned over near the Arnold Marshall reported reported he assisted several other motorists turning the car over, but found that it was unoccupied. A man's cap containing bloodstains was found under the car. No the driver was found.

Abell was for two years a student at Illinois College, and since leaving the college has been employed as a teacher in the Cairo grade schools. The couple will make their home in Cairo, where Mr. Abell is employed in a bank. June 23 Phillip D. Diefenbacher, 54, for the last 25 years cashier of the Havana National bank, died at 10 1 a. m. Saturday at the Methodist hospital in Peoria as a result of injuries sustained Friday afternoon when he plunged two floors to the ground at a Pekin club after a porch railing broke. Diefenbacher was in Pekin attending the district convention of the Illinois Bankers' association.

Diefenbacher sustained internal injuries, fractures of the left arm in two places and a shattered right elbow.

Mr. Herald. an elderly man, sustained severe head injuries and Mr. Reuling sustained bruises on his scalp. The three were rushed to the Peoria hospital where Reuling was able to leave after receiving treatment.

The Havana banker is survived by his wife, Sylvia; three children, Danny, Martha and Tommy, and two sisters, Misses Martha and Edith Diefenbacher. Virginia, June Edwin F. Reichert was found not guilty in county court here Saturday on charges of allowing Dwight Detwiler escape from jail. Seven informations had been filed against Reichert, two of them charging failure to prevent escape of and five failure to file reports itemized prisoners, statements. The jury was out about thirty minutes and returned with a verdict of not guilty for the Sheriff. ANNA HOUNSLEY OF CHESTERFIELD TAKEN BY DEATH Mrs. Anna Hounsley, former restdent of Morgan county, died at her home in Chesterfield, at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, according to word received in this city by her brother, George Killam. Mrs. Hounsley, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.

Samuel Killam and was born on a farm west of Jacksonville, July 13, 1859. She has made her home in Chesterfield for several years. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. Mrs. Hounsley is survived by one brother, George Killam of this city, and four sons and one daughter.

Her husband died 16 years ago. She an aunt of Fred Killam, of Route One, Jacksonville, and has several other relatives residing in Morgan county. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
