K. Fjetland started in his Upper Penirmila newspaper career with the Iron River Reporter in 1924 He moved to Gladstone in 1931 and was manager of the Delta Reporter. He later managed the Escanaba office in Gladstone. He was active in politics while In the U. P.

and elsewhere. In 1932 he was named executive secretary to Michigan Gov. William A. Comstock and in 1933 was appointed to the row defunct State Prison Commission. During World War II he was Michigan director of the U.

S. War Manpower Commission and later became head of the re-employment Retraining Administration in Washington. He joined the Michigan Employment Security Commission in 1947. Services amd burial will be in Albuquerque. or not a person requires further professional eye care.

Everyone who participates in the screening program will be given a card, which will indicate whether or not the screening has revealed any defects, and if a complete vision examination is recommended. The unit will be operated by the Escanaba Lions, assisted by the Future Nurses Club at Holy Name High and Escanaba High. The Sightmobile will be stationed at the Escanaba High School this week until Friday. Friday, Oct. 10.
