There hare been no transactions, that we have heard of as yet and the quan tlty offering may be considered as quite large parties. however, are awaiting private despatches previous to operating, and consequently no sales bare been effected The advance in government and state stocks, the rise in consols and in American securities generaly, are in dicative of an easy money market, added to an active speculative movement. The loan of 68 was selling at 104 about 113 a 11SJ here, this shows a return of confl dence of a most encouraging, and satisfactory charater. which is to be hoped may be confirmed by private advU The Clinton Bank of Columbus, Ohio, about which un avorable rumors were circulated, is pronounced perfectly good by the cashier of the Com Bank of Cleveland, in a letter to tbe Herald. After paying all in iebtedness, and allowing for bad debts, it has a surplus of fifty thousand dollars.

The Cincinnati Evening Mercury puts the amount of pork, in bulk, imported into the city since Sept. 1st, 1848 at 1.771.767 lbs exported, 340,695. The following exhibit of the Central Railroad, for tbe month of January. 1849, contrasted with earnings for tbe same period of 1848, shows an increase of $14,257 52 The amount of cotton transported from Augusta and Harrirburg, exceed those of the same month last year. by 25,144 bales, as follow; January, 1849.
