Or in other words that no inomber of tho organization in this county will subrcribe for, or patronise tho Marion Herald. This glorious resolution la. by no. means a surprise to us or the ller-t aid we have long since discov cred that the "Republican Rings1 on the tail of the machine wcro hourly becoming tighter and that they could no.t long withstand th heavy pressure inflicted thereon by advice Irom, a Democratic organ However, we still claim, that aa farmer's organization we do not op pose the Wheel, but as skillfully planned political clique we have op posed it and as euch will contmu to oppose it regardless of all. the big "resolves' they may chance to make.

It is true that we have some fev subscribers who are members of tho organization men who pay for all tbey got. But with the exception of tn.is ley toe, men wuo compose the and file of the order do not patronize the Herald or any other newspaper. Now tho idea of a few standing candidates for office, (men who have been standipg ia ev ery known party since the war,) and and a tow younger ones who seeing their chances for walking into offi ce were very slim, shout '-freedom" mount the Wheel and, trusting to fprtune to lot them ride in; the idea we repeat, of this hand-full of true Jeffersonian Democrats (with the democracy left out,) trying to kill their county paper, Why if the Hevald bad been forced to depend mainly on the dear brethren of the Wheel for sustcn nance it would perished long since. We don'1 mean to say that there are no good men in the Wheel far from saying it. We know several members of the organization whe are good Dem, ocrats, men who would not sloop to do an unjust act, but these men wo think have been misled, hood winked and will ere long discover their mistake and return to their old pasture the fields, pf democra cy.

Now in conclusion wo wish to say that the principles governing this paper are the same to day that they were oyer three years ago when it first entered the broad fields of Alabama journalism, it was. then strictly democratic and wo are pleased to say that it remains the same, unciuwsod and unchanff' ablo. Considerable excitement prevails throughout Lamar county over the recent discovery ot gold, silver and iron ore. If we are to judge trnm the tone of our Vernon contenjuora rv Lamar is on the eve of a most tremendous boom. The silver and gold is thought to exist in paying "amines auu me ore is pronounced t.

"No longer will we submit to the dangerous influence wielded, over oiy great Wheel by Democratic or- gaps tt.j;oughout the country.
